This website has terrible reviews on Trust Pilot and pricespy, and I note this only has a 30 day warranty. Seems like a risk.

    • Owned and operated by 'Zeaway Limited' looks like both directors address' are located overseas. Registered office is in Mangere though. And plus it looks like Aliexpress items they're reselling

    • It also says below the 30 day warranty bit that "Statutory conditions and warranties also apply" which means they accept that your purchase is covered by the CGA in NZ, so the warranty period will be at least 12 months.

  • Ive shopped with them once and was a horrible experience. Purchased that explosion box that explodes out with photos. You send your photos and they print it out and etc. Waited 3 weeks and still nothing, when i emailed them, they advised its lost in transit. I was so frustrated due to my photos were lost and anyone could've had them. All they did was a refund.

Best deals is trustworthy in my experience with them. I've purchased many things from their website including a $950 water blaster which has lasted nearly a year (Still working). They use post haste couriers which should be on time or faster delivery (For Auckland). This is my experience.

  • bought an office chair from then in 2019 still working like newish till i sold it early this year

  • Guys -it says "UBL" brand

    • nope, its JBL, check its Logo online

      • "PULSE 3 Portable Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker with 360 Light Show(UBL Brand)"

Also listed under 'Features' as 'UBL'

        • Obviously whoever's running the store just thought, I see the letter U and decided to create a new brand lol

@Wakrak: This is a knockoff AliExpress product! Avoid it if you expect anything near the quality of a genuine JBL product

          • @Wakrak: I've sent them an email asking for clarification. I've removed JBL from the title and tags section for now.

  • Do price match at Noel Leeming online chat and do click and collect. Don’t need to pay for delivery

    • It's not the same product so you can't price match it

    • I tried it but they said it wasn't the same manufacturer warranty so they couldn't

  • On the plus side they do accept PayPal, but on the negative side they are very dishonest because the picture has been altered in such a way to give the impression that it is a JBL speaker when an actual fact it's a UBL speaker which of course is a made up name to closely resemble JBL.

  • Personally I think it's pretty obvious that it's just a typo, the JBL logo is clearly visible in the photos and the items description is almost identical to the one on the official product page from JBL with all the exact same features listed. Also there's no such thing as the UBL Connect app that's mentioned in the items description (UBL is a banking brand) but there is a JBL Connect app.

But if you're positive it's a knockoff and not just a typo by someone thinking the J is a U in the JBL logo, and let's face it, if you've never heard of JBL then the J in the logo could easily be mistaken for a U, then take the 3 minutes to report it to the ComCom and let this company be fined for purposely misleading customers and multiple other infringements they're committing by advertising it.

    • They have clearly not made a typo because UBL is clearly referenced in every description, and they have never referenced JBL at any time. This company has a history of misrepresentation of products in this way.

      • You also told me repeatedly that 1-Day advertising deals as Today Only wasn't misleading at all, so um, yeah…….

If you're so confident these are knock-offs then report them to the ComCom, everyone reading this should, that way if they are then the company will be prosecuted. It only takes a few minutes https://comcom.govt.nz/make-a-complaint/complaint-form

        • Obviously didn't read what I said, they have never referenced JBL as this speaker so there can be no complaint. They have highlighted in their title, in brackets UBL.

          • @pdevonporf: Dude, go read that thread where you were telling me how wrong I was about 1-day possibly being done by the comcom for misleading people with their advertising. One of my comments in that thread I said it was a good idea that if you don't know what you're talking about it's often better to not say anything at all. You obviously know nothing at all about advertising standards for retail, I do, I don't know everything, but I know quite a bit from working in retail and dealing with advertising for many years.

You seriously think that you can sell a knockoff of a JBL speaker using photos that clearly show the JBL logo on the speakers and a description that is nearly a word for word copy of the products description from the JBL official site? If you think you can do that and the comcom can't prosecute you just because you call your speakers UBL instead of JBL then I don't know what to say.

Actually, the comcom can be pretty useless at times, their resources are limited so they like going for the big fishes that will grab headlines, depending on the scale of the offending they might not bother doing anything at all. Might pay to contact JBL directly and let them know what this company is doing. https://www.jbl.co.nz/support-contact.html I did that when heaps of people were selling knockoff Skullcandy headphones on Trade Me and the distributor for Skullcandy in NZ sent me a free pair of headphones along with a box of promotional clothing and stickers and stuff.

            • @[Deactivated]: You seem to be the only one here that thinks these are JBL speakers, even the title has been altered to this deal.

              • @pdevonporf: It doesn't matter if I think they're real JBL or knockoffs, what I think doesn't stop anyone who does think they're knockoffs from reporting them to the comcom for breaching advertising standards. You're the one who is spreading misinformation about how you can't make a complaint because they're not calling them JBL, that's what's more worrying because some people might read your misinformation and think it's correct and that could stop them from making a valid complaint in the future about this or another similarly advertised product they come across.

                • @[Deactivated]: First of all, as to quote you, 'you have no idea what you're talking about'. I would say that you are giving false information about this product being legit in my opinion. You like everybody else here has an opinion or comment and it doesn't matter whether they're wrong or right, that's the point of this forum. From what I've read from all the posts here, clearly points to this product not being legit in their opinion. And as for the commerce commission being involved who cares I've got better things to do with my life. Should we start reporting ourselves for ripping off Kathmandu with their gift voucher mistake, Noel Leeming for pretending to be a member of CSCBG Premium, Torpedo seven and the hospitality codes etc etc which I have quite happily participated in and thank you everyone for the posts.

                  • @pdevonporf: Oh my God…. with your twisted logic you must be a hit on twitter. You're classic, you say you can't make a complaint, I point out how that is wrong and you can (and also tell people they should), so you reply like an angsty teen "who cares anyway!!?" then you go off on some tangent about dobbing people in for using loopholes with retailers and other things that have absolutely nothing to do with a store selling fake goods or falsely advertising goods or the comcom, which is what we were discussing. You acted the same way in the other thread about 1-Day where I turned out to be right and you were wrong, but I'm sure in your mind even after the recent comcom decision against 1-Day and huge fine you still probably think you're right and I was wrong. I can't be bothered dealing with children or ignorant fools like yourself who act like them. Goodbye.

          • @pdevonporf: Actually, all the "UBL" references on the page said "JBL" until they changed it 2 days after.

  • Trademe listing

Description is pretty much a copy paste from JBL website
