3 Months Free Fibre Broadband + Modem with a 12 Month Fixed Plan at $78/M (or $68/M) + Shipping @ Skinny

30

First 3 months free on a 12 month fibre broadband contract, then $78 per month.

Those who have a 4 weekly $26 or above Skinny mobile plan are also eligible for a $10/m discount, bringing the contract to $612 + *$10 for the 12-month period.

I don't believe Skinny's fibre plans had been eligible for the $10 monthly mobile discount until now, giving a small saving over the previous deal (4 months free) here: https://www.cheapies.nz/node/32870

Existing fibre contract customers on an eligible mobile plan can also get the $10 monthly discount added to their account (easily done via live chat on Skinny's website).

*Note a $10 shipping charge for the modem.

This is a limited-time offer for new Skinny broadband customers only. Available to customers who do not currently get broadband from Skinny and have not had broadband with Skinny for the last 90 days.

New Skinny broadband customers only.

Yep, used to be $16 or above plans could get $10 off a wireless connection (4G). Now it is $26 or above and applicable to all.

This means those who signed up previously on either 4 or 6 months free should be able to get the $10 discount if they have a $26 or above plan right now. Although in the dashboard I can't see where to add one.

    • Best to live chat on their website and the Skinny rep will confirm your details before the discount is added to your account.

  • For those who are already with skinny but out of contract they will also offer 1 month free if you sign up for another 12 months. Not as good as changing to a different provider but better than nothing.

    • Thanks for that. We out of contact but been happy with skinny. So will hit them up for that free month

  • Im still using the 6 free months from the previous skinny deal

    • Mine ran out a few months ago, so I've been waiting on a deal that would justify paying the contract termination fee

      • do you know how much the termination fee is?

        • $200 if you terminate within the first 6 months, and $100 if you terminate after the first 6 months

  • Make sure you checkout all options via broadband compare or glimp

    ie for me on broadbandcompare

'now' broadband 300/100 for $62.95/m on a 12m term, price goes up to $85/m after the term ends(deal ends 30/8/2022)
2degrees 300/100 for $65/mo on 12m term with 6mo free prime video and 6m free neon (deal ends 31st August 2022)

It does state the prices for 2d goes up $3/m next month

    • 2d always try to pad out their deals with those subs. When they passed me off to retentions those were all they really offered, and when I said they were of no value to me (I don't use any streaming services), they gave up.

    • Thanks for heads up about NOW broadband. Reviews seem great and prices are pretty good so going to swap to them.

  • Random Vodafone offer I just came across.

Wellington, Kapiti, Christchurch; Unlimited HFC Max (834/98) $62.99 a month

    1. I do not like skinny as they charge 4 weekly so you have to pay 13 times/ year compared to monthly plan( 12 times/ year)

    2. They also do not have rollover data for plan over 4.5gb.

    3. They do not give much discounts if you combine plan broadband +mobile for example. Only $10 is maximum, whatever you bring to them (2-3 mobile numbers).

I got $20 discount for broadband plan and $20 for 2 small endless mobile plan with Vodafone. So totally i got $60 discount. So eventhough i paid $83 for broadband firbe max but combine all plan together, i got cheaper cost for our family with Vodafone.

Skinny should learn it and compete with their competitors.

    • Mostly bundle deals are not worth it. Why not go with Kogan large plan 15gb/month and sign up with skinny. I haven't done the math but I think it will be cheaper than Vodafone. Kogan anyway uses Vodafone network.

      • For mobile plan, my vodafone's deal is $25/month for 5gb endless data (up from $20/m for 4gb endless data); Kogan does not have a better deal at the time when i signed the contract, still have few months contract (for superwifi). And also kogan require to buy 365 days to get better deal, and i never tried Kogan (a bit worry about services and signal).

Anyway, it is a good idea to combine that way, I will consider your strategy after my current contract with vodafone is finished.

My provider MyRepublic just price matched my broadband, i just screenshot them the offer from Skinny providing discount to make up for the free 3 months and Skinny rates.
Thanks OP, that's a big savings and i don't have to switch provider.

  • Anyone currently with skinny managed to get the 3 months instead of the 1 month if you signup for another year?

    • I hope someone manages this. I’ve just ticked over a year and am happy with skinny so far. Would like to continue
