  So how does this work if you, for example were to buy something, receive the gift card and then change ur mind and return the item?

  Is the gift card considered a free gift you keep or will it need to be returned?

    I think either you surrender the gift card or receive the refund minus gift value. Nothing is free

    IIRC I had a gift voucher and they did a bizarre discount on the item so you effectively then pay for the voucher. Return the item and then you would get the discounted amount refunded BUT, you paid for the gift voucher and keep it.
