  • Been seeing this monitor a lot for sale and was thinking of getting it myself. I think the only complaints people have about this is the ghosting issues due to being a VA panel, other than that it looks like a great deal if you're in the market for this kind of monitor

  • Good recent yarns about this monitor over at Geekzone

  • Good stuff, this is the lowest from PB. Althought not the lowest overall, PB has physical store makes it easier to return and repair, worth paying the small extra.

I had this monitor for a while and I am happy with it so far on games. You do see the difference between VA and IPS but you get what you pay for and VA for this price for 34' ultrawide is great!

    • Another interesting yarn on Geekzone is one about PB Tech changing their store setups.

You can't go in and browse now. It's more of a click and collect service. Good if you know what you want, bad if you like exploring.

      • I experienced this the other day, went in to a store and wanted to have a browse in the network cables section. Not allowed to… but the sales staff was happy to grab the one I was after and bring it to the counter to show me. Bit strange but perhaps it’s the new normal for a while now…

I endured this for case fans. It was a bit awkward going through what they actually had in stock on my phone and his laptop at the desk.
The guy ended up grabbing the wrong colour when I went to checkout. Also was a pain to try and get corporate discount.
Staff member came across like he really didnt want to be there

      • oh what, that sucks! I wanted to go in there to purchase something but need to do split payment, I also wanted to take my old powersupply in for an RMA

    • Returning stuff to pbtech is a brutal headache enough to make anyone recoil at the sound of the name.

  • Xiaomi Mi 34” good for what it is(VA) at the $550-$600 price point. Personal I couldn't stand the idea of using a VA full time so I imported the "AOC U34G3X" last November from Mwave.com.au & couldn't be happier @ $824nz for a ultrawide IPS panel.

    • How you imported that to NZ?

        • TIL, thanks!

Same price at mi-store if you would like to pay via CC/AMEX to get some rewards. However there is a courier charge or free pickup from Store.

  • I considered this Phillips 34" IPS Widescreen Freesync 1ms 144hz monitor that you can get for around $750nz delivered from Amazon, but I couldn't find any reviews for it online. It's part of their Momentum range and there are some reviews for other monitors in the range but they're VA panels.

    Anyone know anything about it?

  • Would be nice if some LG monitors were on sale.

  • Here’s another 34” ultrawide at $599 Acer Nitro XZ342CUP. Not sure how this compares to Xiaomi but seems like a great deal.

  • Previously would've recommended one of these, but had multiple problems in my household.
I purchased one through 1day. Loved the monitor but after 2 months had a green vertical line go down the screen. Sent it back for rma and they refunded me eventually. Have since purchased a 34" dell (S3422DWG) for $676, swear by this one now!

Flatmate also had the Xiaomi monitor but after 9 months it stopped working, different problem it just wouldn't display anything (recognised the input but no display). Currently still in rma process through the market.

All these problems seem rather prevalent based on other reviews. So be wary if you purchase one and be ready to send back for rma.
