The best part about these clearance sales is that you find out what the "real" prices of these items are

  • Don’t forget to add the 1-day M&ms to the order for another 10% off those too or to make up the difference to get to $100….. just remember to buy the next size up clothes though!

    • Does Barker's clothes sizing run on the smaller side?

      • Unsure if joke or not, but from my one shirt experience, no. Got a medium t-shirt a few weeks back. Good standard medium fit. YMMV.

No. Tends to be slightly on the larger side, if anything. Barkers's sizing is similar to the more expensive brands at Farmers.

A good rule of thumb is the more expensive the brand, the larger the sizing. This is especially true for women's clothes, e.g. size XS from Cue is equivalent to size S from The Warehouse.

        • I cannot quite agree to your "rule of thumb", as it would depend on the fit and or design ie. Relaxed fit, Slim fit, boxy tee etc. Also, it really depends on the "market" thus Asian sizes run small (and so does European) whereas it's larger in the US etc. As for AU/NZ brands/retailers, it's generally quite similar just depends on the "fit" and usually it's stated in the description.

Barkers also make slim fits and regular fits (regular fit being larger obviously) etc and they seem quite "normal" to me. Usually you would have to go up a size for those slim fits for comfort (or even two if you have a belly and so on). Calvin Klein for example which has become more of a regular brand now and not quite a "designer brand" anymore has significantly become smaller in size (probably due to their major target/factory being of Asia) where you would have to get a L or even a XL when your usual size is a M (from experience a few years back compared to many years prior). Same goes for the "designer brands" that walk the catwalk in Paris or Milan for example which you would consider as one of the most expensive brands out there. So I would say for the "rule of thumb" is to consider the fit/design and the brands origin/market :)

      • Sorry, I was referring to the weight you would put on after eating all the m&ms!

I think their clothing sizes are ok, not smaller or bigger.

        • Oh I get it now… Thanks for clarifying ;)

    • Hah, I actually ordered a size smaller in the hopes that it will motivate me to actually shift this lockdown baking excess I've been toting.

If you're ordering through the market, just refer another email address (could be one of your own) and you and the referral with both get a $20 off $99 coupon. They used to require a new phone number for every account but have recently scrapped that.

    • Oh, didn't know they scrapped that!

    • Yeah I couldn't believe it the first time I tried it, these schemes usually require the new account to actually make a purchase before the credit is applied.
