They rarely do this in store (in my experience). Most managers seem to know the actual T&Cs (CGA is another story). "promotional price" (bar a couple of exceptions) isn't one, it sort of defeats the purpose. Though I realise in store on Boxing day isn't likely to be ideal.
There is still like 6 days to go. I'd contact them via the form (not chat) and ask which of the T&Cs they believe gets them out of their Price Promise. Given how often this seems to happen complaints (or maybe a Reddit thread) are the only thing that'll make any change.

It took a few different agents but I managed to get the Harry Potter figures for $99. Tried to explain that it was within their T&Cs but took the third agent to agree.
They certainly seem to be coming up with a number of excuses. One today was that it was too far from their price of $198!
What wording did you use to explain that it is within their T&Cs? They keep referencing the competitor’s ‘promotional’ pricing as their reason to refuse. Surely this defeats the purposes of offering the price beat in the first instance, which include driving sales, building loyalty, increasing ROI and improving market share.
I just reiterated that it is not being combined with any other offer, but is just a single item price match and that I have had no issue in the past. They eventually agreed!
Could just support Toyco and buy from them, just sayin'.

I would have, as have always found Toyco great. Just wanted to click and collect in Christchurch as can pick up within 24 hours and didn't want risk shipping before Xmas.

Typical deal, like the Warehouse. All the good stuff is all of a sudden unavailable, and just the dregs left.
Even "Sold out" of all their Hot Wheels cars ? I doubt it.
I asked via live chat and they said they couldn't process the price promise due to promotional price from competitor.
