$30 NZD Sign-up Bonus Promo @ Sharesies

220
21

I think it’s really great offer if you do not already have a Sharesies account. This is not a referral code, but promo code.
Use the promo code ‘21’ when sign up Sharesies and receive $30 (Adult account only)
I wish i did not sign up yet :(
But If you already have an account and you've never traded, you can Close your account and recreate with the promo code, works great.
(Thanks to Timmynz for sharing this, it worked for me too)

The promotional period is from 17 December 2021 to 11:59 PM on 31 December 2021.

You can find full terms and condition here.

same issue. not working for me

      • same here

        • Same for me, I've just sent an email to the help desk. Will be interested to hear what they say.

I tried last night and it failed as well. It's doing an ajax (background) post of the signup form and their server is returning a generic 500 server error, but their frontend doesn't handle the error and provide feedback to the user - a pretty basic oversight and doesn't give me much confidence for the rest of their site.

The core functioning of the site is fine and has been for a long time. The fact that a dev made a few mistakes (or was given poorly-written specs) on something they're trying for a new marketing promo doesn't reflect on anything except that sometimes shlt happens.

It's the main signup form, not a new special promo form. If a potential new customer decides to engage you've got to get it right, and if something unexpected happens it should fail gracefully. I've been a developer for 22 years and I know too well that the unexpected happens, to me how an application recovers from it is the difference between a good application and a bad one.

          This is correct.

Our websites that serve over a 100,000 people a day have been down for more than a day (still down now) due to a switch failure during a maintenance window. Shit happens in IT, and it can't all be expected.

sooo sounds like it's still not fixed..?

  • I might sign up myself to see how it works. I was thinking of signing up for 2 grandchildren. Do you need an IRD # for them as one child is fairly new and lives in Australia so won't have an IRD #. The other is her but would rather do it quietly without the parents involvement.

Still failing to signup. Man you’d hope they could fix by Monday or Tuesday. Surely this is a P1 bug.

Just signed up, it worked, looks like they fixed it

      • also working for me now, thanks!

    UPDATE (20/12)

Sharesies support have confirmed the signup process is failing when using the promo code.

Send them an email at [email protected] explaining that the process is failing.
They got me to create an account without the promo code and they will manually credit it.

Ps. remember to use one of the referral links at the top of this page to get an extra $5!

    • I just signed up using the form and the promo code, and it worked! They fixed it

  • Website seems to be working now.

    • This worked for me too. Thanks for sharing the tip.

    • Nice tip.
Unfortunately won’t work for me as I have traded but good to know for others who have yet to trade.
