Domino's or Pizza Hut?

Hi everyone, just wondering which of the two is better. What is everyone's favourite pizza at each store? I seldom eat pizzas so have no ideas.

Purpose: feeding young school kids and their parents at a birthday party.

Any current Pizza Hutt deals?

Thanks.

Pizza Hut! although not many deals and their prices have continued to creep up over the last couple of years.

    • Which pizzas do you like from PH? Thanks.

      • Im a fan of the vegi supreme, Cheese lovers and apricot chicken (names have changed a few times over the past few years). Also note I had a few dietary restrictions that rules out a bunch of pizzas. I prefer their pan base over the base that dominoes uses.

Thanks. I'll get at least 1 vegetarian to make sure no one starves.

@sunshinenz: fyi from years of experience: usually vegetarian ones get take by non vegetarians too so always pays to get 1 extra than the people required for

Dominos because of price. Quality is good enough. Mega meat lovers for $15 delivered is our go to.

    • Do you imply that Pizza Hut pizzas taste better? (I'd go for Gourmet/Deluxe range at either store.)

    i like dominoes

Such a hard question, because taste and quality will vary from store to store AND will vary at different times and different pizza makers.

    • Oh dear, that's a bit complicated then. How about based on "average" experience?

      • You can use the special offers or coupons found on this website and do taste tests at various stores in your neighborhood, until you find the right one.

Well you are feeding kids, they might be a little picky with chicken pizzas with veges or odd sauces on them etc, depends on their ages. I would just grab a bunch of Dominos value pizzas(ie $50 would buy 10) and get like 3x haiwaiian, 3x pepperoni, 2xveg trio, 2xcheese or something. Gives you a range of options.

1 value pizza is probably enough for 2-3 kids or 3/4 a pizza for an adult as a meal.

    • Thanks. How about sides? Which ones are kids approved?

My local Dominos is so much better than Pizzahut so I always go with Dominos. I prefer Dominos's bread, Pizzahut one are a bit soggy, also more topping from my local store

Pizza hut has far superior pizza's imo, the crust and cheese are actually decent. My go to budget pizza now and everyone I reintroduce to pizza hut - my personal go to is a large value range with can of drink (and free survey pizza) for ~$9
Dominos is good option for kids birthday tho imo, variety for cost, and option for a free sauce on each pizza. Dominos also does their thin and crispy better than pizza hut

  • Honestly I think it depends on the local store for me. I've had good and bad of both.

Pizza Hut Deals can be found here: https://www.pizzahut.co.nz/order/deals
Don't think they have any other coupon codes that work/available on all the other sites - can't find them on any of the Affiliate Networks either so can't help you out there, sorry mate!

  • Definitely depends on the actual store - for example, the Pizza Hut at Botany is so bad, I would literally not go there if they were giving it away.

Dominos at Botany Junction is okay though.

Thank you all for your feedback. I ended up getting pizzas from both stores because they are located next to each other. Teckiwi seems to understand little people very well. I got some value pizzas and some "upgrades" but people seemed to prefer the former. It would have been a disaster if I had gone for all "deluxe" and "gourmet" thinking people would appreciate the differences. Thanks again.

  • pizza hut always sticks to the freaking boxes when it gets a bit cold. Gross.

    Dominos is far better

  • Variety at dominoes. "quality" at pizza hut (although its a small diff)

  • Wish I bought some to freeze for the lockdown… prefer PH over Dom, but Dom is closer to me.
