      This stand is only a stand and doesn't have the chargers. You need to supply your own MagSafe Charger and Apple Watch Charger if you were to get this.

  Wait, what's the "Safe" part of MagSafe in this context?

  Or are they just trying to ensure the trademark doesn't expire?

  The old MagSafe meant your computer didn't fly across the room if you tripped over the cord and reduced cord wear (and subsequent fire hazard) because of it.

  This just seems more like MagAlign as I can't see any safety benefit over not having it.

  I honestly don't know why they're continuing to use the MagSafe brand, but it's probably a licensing/trademark thing. No way would I pay that much for what this does, but I'm sure someone probably wants it… 😂

  I've got an upright duo Samsung wireless charger (got it free with my Samsung note) for my iPhone on my desk so can see notifications which is more useful to me and of course charge my watch at the same time.

  Apple has been trying to squeeze every single penny of whoever want to use their product. It's like they sell the cup for $4999, cup handle for $999 and the glue to stick them together for $799.
