Might wanna put Refurb in the title.

  • Now the question is, are these international units going to support the VLAN tagging our NZ ISPs like to use on our fibre connections, or is that feature only in the AU specific units?

    • According to Geekzone, Google Nest Wifi supports VLAN tagging:

Also, I've been with a few ISPs and from memory, I didn't have to set up VLAN tagging for most of them. I'm not using ISP provided routers either.

Most routers you could just SSH and enable VLAN tagging in the config. Otherwise just double NAT.

These Google Nest Wifis are kinda meh for a mesh wifi to be honest.

      • What would you recommend for mesh wifi?

I am using Orbi and very happy with it. Friend has Tp-link which is fine as well.

        • I bought 3 Fritzbox 7490 second hand on Trademe/FB Marketplace and they make great mesh network devices. Not the prettiest things, but total cost was less than $150 and performance is excellent.

I'm using the Google Nest and for me it's been fine. Just general streaming etc, it's been stable and fast. The speakers in the access points are better then the nest minis.
