  • Not a biggie, but I am seeing $1,998 rather than $1,988 ($10 difference on $2,000 is hardly material though) - still looks like a deal to me :-)

    Alan.

    • Yikes - price isn't really the place you want to make a typo :-). Apologies Alan. Have fixed.

  • Looks like a dropshipping site to me.

    • They are certainly appear to be very new - makes me nervous about using them. They have one listing, and no trades ever (as of today) on TradeMe.

      If they were drop shipping from overseas, they would not be able to meet this committment:

      Order before 12:00 noon in Auckland and receive your Shine mattress the next working day

      so looks like they must have a warehouse in Auckland?

    • Hi Chubbz, not a drop shipping or alibaba express site. Shine mattresses are designed in NZ but are manufactured off-shore. Stock is warehoused in Auckland. Long story short, we are passionate about good quality sleep and to help kiwis sleep better believe there is an opportunity in NZ for a premium high quality pocket spring mattress that doesn't cost $10,000 and isn't a gloried foam mattress in a box. Rise and Shine :-).

      • Ahh, okay that's cool, is it possible to try the bed out before purchasing? Beds aren't really something I am keen on getting online before trying. Especially without other reviews.

        • Yes - I completely agree.

          I know you have the 100 (?) day return thing, but its more the hassle factor that I would want to avoid.

          Can we (customers) visit your warehouse (say)?

          Thanks,

          Alan.

            @Alan6984: Hi Chubbz and Alan6984,

            Thanks for showing a genuine interest in product. I understand with mattresses that a lot of customers do want to try out before buying. However, after giving it some considerable thought the business model can only really work by being 100% online. I can tell you that lying for 2 mins on a mattress in a store is pretty average way to ensure a good feel and spinal support. You want to lie on a mattress for 30 mins for your body heat to heat up the comfort layers to a get a more accurate gauge on an 8 hour sleep experience.

            You are also right, in that one of my key goals over the next 6 months is to develop a nice list of positive customer reviews as proof of product. So far sales have matched expectations and everything we have gotten back has been positive and in line with my expectations on the reviews page. In order to help with reviews I'm going to do you two a deal as you have shown a genuine interest, if you type in: Family&Friends you will get an additional $250 off. This is for the potential inconvenience factor and because we don't have 100 positive reviews yet :-). I've loaded 3 deals against this so if someone else grabs it before you I am sorry but I assume you two will be first as it is your comments thread. If nothing a couple of thumbs up for store owner engagement would be good :-).
