Goldair DC Quiet Fan with Wi-Fi - $99 @ JB Hi-Fi ($84.15 with Price Beat @ Mitre10)

180

Ive been looking at fans recently and saw this one mentioned in that other fan post.

This fan is on special for $99 at Jbhifi.

It's $149 at Mitre10 but with their price guarantee you should be able to get it down to $84.15.

do you have to do that in store?

    • Yes

  • I have this fan already and can recommend. It's quiet mode works great when getting to sleep on a hot night!!

  • Does this work with alexa?

  • Interesting how Mitre 10 says it’s “Exclusive”…

    • I've noticed this wording on a number of their products. Maybe it's a poor attempt at tricking people to not shop around and not price match.

    • Are you sure it is exactly the same SKU / model number. I have found that some retailers will have slightly different models from one another, so they don't then have to price match.

      • They are both model GCPF315 but there could be a difference, who knows. M10 price beat by 15% for me yesterday.

        Screenshot here

  • Has anyone managed to successfully price match?

    • +1

Yup, was lucky to pick one up at my local Mitre10. Note that the Mitre10 website states 2 year warranty when the fan in fact only has 1 year warranty.

      • +4

You shouldn't have to replace a fan in 1 or 2 years. Three or 5 year warranty under NZ consumer laws.

        • I've never even seen one die before, I've only ever replaced them for something better.

Successfully price matched at Mitre10 yesterday afternoon.
Fan goes well, helped to move the air through the house after being closed up all day.

    • 😂

    • At least this one has WiFi and its quiet.

    • Silence peasant!

      • as i saw posted on another deal one time. "is this choicecheapies or ChoiceExpensivies?"

    • if it was 999 yes, 99? hell no

  • Smart Home compatibility? Is it Google Home or Alexa compatible.

    • It's meant to be but I can't get it working

      • For Alexa there is a Goldair skill which you need to enable within the Alexa app. Once you enable the skill, the skill asks you to log in using the same credentials you used in the Goldair app. Once you have done that you can then discover the fan as a new device and then start giving Alexa orders.

  • with that price you can get a mi fan which was on sale for 88 bucks few weeks ago

    and it said

Those things are so freaking tiny, I wouldn't bother with them

      • +1

Tiny? They are just a normal standing fan right?

        • +2

It's a 35cm fan, while the cheapest $15 Bunnings fan is 40cm. Generally airflow = fan diameter * RPM (plus high velocity blades)

The only Xiaomi pedestal fan worth getting IMO is the rechargeable battery one. Some people like to bring it to the patio, or the front porch.

    • +3

who needs google voice commands when youve got kids 🤣

      • +2

Thank God I don't have kids

  • Just signed up to leave this comment but I did this price match at Mitre10 in Masterton yesterday, before seeing the deal listed here. They matched the price but didn't do the 15% so I ended up paying $99. Is it up to each Mitre10 store to decide if they do the beat the price by 15%?

    • +1

I think they are trying to trick you into doing a price match instead of price beat. It almost happened to me yesterday when I went to a mitre10 store to get one. I told the guy in the customer service desk if they could beat the jb hi-fi price as per their advertised "price guarantee" policy. The guy then replied "so you want a price match eh?" so I had to tell him again that I wanted a 15% price beat from their price guarantee policy not a price match.

      • You should try to price match or beat at The Warehouse instead (yes the Red Shed). 4 out of 5 staff wouldn't have a clue.

        • I was told flat out by a store manager (CBD Atrium) that I won't get a price beat despite me showing the terms and conditions on my phone. The item was a Brita water filter and the competing store is….Countdown.

          • @Avantime: You show them the webpage with the names of the board of directors. I said I would contact one of them with my complaint (not a price beat issue but on an unrelated matter). They solved the problem ASAP lol.

    • I got mine for 88.40 as I don't have a local JB Hi-Fi the price had to include shipping. So it was 104 - 15%.

    • Go back and get them to refund you the difference.

  • Just bought in store from Mitre 10 with $84.15, can’t wait to use it today! Thank you Stoic!

  • Yeah they were cleaned out in Mitre10 Lincoln Road when I checked yesterday. Went to Westgate and they had the display left, which I got lol.

So if you are still looking, would recommend calling first to check in stock.

Also.. the JBHifi page seems to be offline / 404 as of this morning:

    • Mitre10 Glenfield also has no stock, I grabbed the display model yesterday.

  • I don't think you can price match it any more as it's been deleted from jbhifi website

    • Next best is probably Farmers at $129.99
