  • Thanks for sharing, got hold of drill + driver kit. Good value.

Yep got the drill+driver. Same deal as last year but was cheaper as Bunnings had the same deal and they were price matching. Last year cost me $295. Bunnings doesn’t have it this year FYI 😔

    • How do you find the weight of the big 6am XR Flex battery when on these drills?

I'm considering this, or the other deal Dewalt are doing which is the same items + another battery for $429 as I am bit worried about the weight - https://www.thetoolshed.co.nz/product/16529-dewalt-cordless-…

      • I find the difference between the 6ah 54v and 5ah 18v battery on the impact driver a big difference - I feel as if it throws the balance out. Keep in mind I'd always want two batteries minimum anyway if you're going to be screwing a lot, or using the hammer function on masonry etc. I only get about an hours work out of a 5ah 18v in the impact driver if I'm doing a deck, or a fence, if all I'm doing is screwing. So after that it's back on the charger for longer than it lasts.

Having said that, good to get a 54v if you're going to collect some serious kit, as Dewalt don't usually give them away with their redemption promos, only the 18v ones. The tools I've used where I've found a good difference between the 18v version and the 54v version, are the chainsaw, mitre saws and skill saws (not just putting a 54v battery in, but the versions that ONLY take the 54v Flexvolt).

        Hope that helps!

        • Thanks for detail. I have gone for the cheaper deal for now as realistically I'm not going to be big user (I just want more power when I do use it). I can always get another smaller battery later I figure.

  • I don’t know if the battery weight would cause fatigue if I was using it all day but I don’t find it a problem at all for my uses and I use it a fair bit on a weekly basis. I would say having the extra power outweighs the extra weight which really at the end of the day is only what? A couple hundred grams?
