  • Note that the Bunnings link shows a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Fast Charger and the Ryobi link shows a standard charger.
    Standard charger is slower;
    Charge a 1.3Ah Lithium Battery in 55 mins
    Charge a 1.5Ah Lithium Battery in 60 mins
    Charge a 2.5Ah Lithium Battery in 1h 40mins
    Charge a 5Ah Lithium Battery in 3h 20mins

    Fast charger;
    1.3Ah — 40 minutes
    2.5Ah — 75 minutes
    5.0Ah — 150 minutes

    Prices for standalone chargers;
    Standard charger
    $59.90
    Fast charger
    $89.90

    • The Ryobi link is wrong as it also shows the 1.5Ah battery instead of the 4.0Ah.

      • 18V 4.0 AH + CHARGER
        $99

        Shows 4.0Ah battery for me on Ryobi website

          You're right. I was looking at the wrong thing.

  • Has anyone got the garden kit? Is it the same as last year? Any good?

    • I bought it last year and am happy with it. The mower is obviously small and being battery powered makes it not the best in particularly long or wet grass, but it's great for small sections. Line trimmer is sufficient for my needs and the rotating head/edging function is bloody handy. Blower is just a blower really lol but it's nice and light weight and works well for drying cars after a wash.

  • looks like dewalt will have some deals too but the page is still blank https://www.dewalt.co.nz/YellowandBlackFriday.html

    Bought the drill driver kit yesterday purely for the extra batteries, nice to have a 5ah battery although I prefer the smaller lighter batteries. I really wish Ryobi made a One+ framing nailer. Their Airwave framing gun is good but towing an air compressor around is a pita.

      • Too small for framing, they have 18ga for trim and the 16ga is good for light work. The 15ga has decent holding power for general use but framing guns use a larger diameter nail and are more powerful. If they had a framing nailer I would purchase it as I have a heap of One+ batteries.

        • Thanks, I wondered if that was the case but wasn't sure on the gauges used

  • On the Drill Driver Kit: "High-capacity 5.0Ah battery provides enhanced performance and runtime"
    Does the larger capacity battery actually give more performance? I thought it would only give more runtime.

    • i suppose runtime is a perfomance metric…

    • If the device can make use of increased amps eg. Chainsaw, then I think they benefit from the bigger batteries.
      I can't confirm but perhaps the internals are upgraded to allow for greater power draw.

      Yes, there was an online video comparing the two (1.5A & 5A) from memory and the performance is different. From personal experience the larger batteries do deliver more oomph.
