Instant Pot 5.7l Duo $194.46 @ The Market

30
FLYBUYS11

This has to be the cheapest I have seen and last time I tried to buy it was sold out.

If you haven't checked Instant Pot or eying for one like I was, then it is great time to get one.

It is the only one which comes with stainless steel rather than with non-stick coting.

The best-selling Instant Pot Duo multicooker not only replaces 7 appliances, but it also speeds up cooking by 2-6 times and saves up to 70% of the energy used in traditional cooking methods. The Duo line features a solid range of Smart Programs and features that will revolutionize the way you cook.

You won't regret owning this.

  • I got something similar for $79 from The Warehouse. Now down to about $70 with the 11% off deal:
    https://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/p/living-co-digital-pressure-…
(Not Instant Pot brand though, and not with a stainless steel container piece.)

    • Yes that is great value if you just want an electric cooker, but those in the know about Instant Pot, their recipes, and the features, instant pot is uncomparable. There are so many recipes for Instant Pot all over the internet.

      • That seems a bit vague, given that this is a bargain site and one is 275% the price of the other.
Can you be more specific about what makes one electric pressure cooker significantly better than another electric pressure cooker?

        • I'm not in the know of multicookers, so I'm also interested aswell. I've got the Philips All-In-One Cooker. So I'm also just wondering what the difference is and what makes the Instant Pot superior?

          https://www.philips.co.nz/c-p/HD2137_72/viva-collection-all-…

          • @Christo: One of it's big thing is, that Instant pot comes with stainless steel inner pot which doesn't have any non-stick coating. Non stick coating after sometime is bound to release nasty chemicals in your food, and it isn't good for consuming.

Next is the amount of recipe's available online made on Instant Pot which means how to cook, what settings, how much water to put, etc etc.. There are recipe books Instant Pots.

Not saying you can't use the other Multi Cooker to cook the same food, it just easier and it has a great following among many with many accessories. Dedicated youtube recipe channels, facebook groups, websites for Instant Pot.

Just check all the books on the market : https://themarket.com/nz/brands/instant-pot/15181

For the price comparison, this particular product is cheapest available in new zealand, not the cheapest product in it's product category. I think it is unfair to complain for an Iphone if is available cheapest comparing with a Nokia phone.

            • @salealert: pofa free coatings are considered safe and pressure cooking temperature does not come close to vaporizing the non-stick coatings.

Having said that. A stainless steel pot is a good reliable alternative in case you want to use metal utensils

            • @salealert: If I got a stainless inner that fit my electric pressure cooker and figured out the difference in cooking time for Instant Pot recipies, would mine be as good as a $194.46 one? I'm happy to buy a new accessory for the product I have if it makes a big difference.

              • @Slogan: To each to their own. I only want it for stainless steel pot & the ease of following the recipes. Just convenient.

But if you want I think having a stainless steel is better. I won't buy this if you already have a electric pressure cooker. You have the idea, buying a cheap one with internal stainless steel utensil is not a bad idea.

I am sure it won't be too hard to figure out cooking time, water amount etc etc. you might fail few times to match up and then once you get the hang of it, you should be good.

  • i got one and absolutely love it, but honestly it doesn't differ much from other multi-cookers.

it's also like getting the phillips airfryers. they're damn good, but cheaper ones can do the job as well.

Also the instantpot is good cos you have a lot of accessories available for them and recipes made specifically for the model.
