  • Shouldn't have them at all.

I'm okay with them having fees, as the service they provide is actually good, but they're a bit ridiculous now. Running costs can't be that high to warrant them

I’ve recently found Fb marketplace to be easier and quicker place to sell. Mostly cause the buyers and sellers can have a private conversation about the item prior to sale.

The lack of private anything on TM is actually what I like about it. You don't even need to exchange bank accounts. They also have buyer protection, which is something FB can't provide. Each to their own, I guess.

Shouldn't have fees? Lol. Maybe Google "how business works".
I'm more than happy to pay the fees considering how quick and painless the selling process is. Too much effort dealing with idiots on the FB marketplace, and having no protection when something goes wrong.

      • So you think it is fair to charge $43.45 fee on an item sold for $550 even after I paid $5.95 to list it just because the sale went through?

        • Whether it is fair or not, at the end of the day it is a business. The idea of which is to make money. The fees are easy to find so you can work out how much it will cost you, you choose whether you want to pay them or not.
You're paying to have list it on a site that dominates the buy/sell scene in NZ, that's why so many people use it.
