    Wtf my order was cancelled.. Unable to verify that I am the card holder :S moneys gone from my account and everything zzz

    • I got this too. It failed with a one banks card and when i tried again it looks like its failed with my other banks card too!
      Get a payment gateway that isn't rubbish!

      edit: I saw the balance disappear as it went on hold with each bank.

      We regret to inform you that with the details you have provided we have been unable to verify that order [order number] was placed by the authorised card holder. As such we have chosen to cancel this order.

    • Yeah talked to their support staff twice.. To no avail

      Can't replace an order with the same card used as it failed "authentication" they told me to talk to my bank to get the refund done faster, who have since told me that Dick Smith need to send off a fax to them first so that they can start the process.

      Not happy, 0/10 Dick Smith. Any rep care to comment?

      • Given i tried twice with one card and once with another, both from different banks, they clearly have a fault.
        Though their rep on here seems to be ignoring this, even an acknowledgement would be nice.

      UPDATE: The order on my second card has gone through! It says it's ready to pickup. Will confirm when I get back.

      I don't have a second card to order with and am now unable to place another order with the same card, even a manual order over the phone with their support team.. Received very poor support on getting my money back for this too.

      Let me know how your order goes, I'm going to try go into the shop after work and talk to someone in person and hopefully get some actual help

        You'll find that no money was taken from the account, so they are unable to process it manually.

        Will see if the rep replies once logging in, maybe they have extended lunch breaks at DSHQ.

        You should be able to walk into store and talk to them about it, explain what happened, would likely require a manager if they were to give you the discount though.

        • I have $1699 gone from my account and my bank says that Dick Smith need to fax them a copy of the refund before they can process anything further.. (Which is not what their support staff told me I needed to do)

          They told me they can put through a manual order over the phone but it could be for delivery only and would take up to 5 working days to process and that I would need a different credit card

          Yeah I asked if I could do that but they said they could only place a delivery order and that I would need to use a different card anyway.

          I'm with ANZ so I have no idea why there are any issues in the first place

      Picked it up. It worked on the third attempt with a different card. Shouldn't have to do this though…

  • Update:

    No dice, talked to staff in store who can't put the deal through. No luck speeding up a refund process to get my money back. Called again to just place another order and try again and now apparently there is no stock at the online dispatch.. Left my number with someone at the helpdesk for their manager to call me as apparently they are all "in a meeting" (They were in a meeting earlier too, and the first time just "very busy")

    Have talked to another helpful company who has said they can give me 10% off the same model which I am happy to pay just to not have to deal with Dick Smith again

    • That's a pain mate, I guess it's safe to say that their 2.59/10 rating on Pricespy isn't a surprise given that. I have revoked my positive vote due to the fact that they have not bothered to reply in this thread with any substance, or assistance.

      Any chance you could PM me who the company you talked to was? Interested to know just for reference.

      Hope the refund comes through fast and no further issues.
