for those who are thinking to buy this and activate some time later.
immediately after you complete your order they send you activation code that expires in 1 month and you supposed to use it once sim card arrives.

for me expiry day is 21 may

Voucher expiry date is listed in the fine print on the item page. It's generally 1 month after expiry of the deal (not 1 month of when you receive it). This deal started about 3 weeks ago. It's ending on 11:59pm NZST 21/04/2020. Hence "Voucher expires at 11:59pm NZST on 20/05/2020" as per both the Kogan and Dick Smith pages. (To be clear, it was the same when I bought it 3 weeks ago.)

Deal expiry is one thing that is often hard to find. It's normally listed on the Google ads picture when you convince them to show up. Generally I can do so by visiting the various Dick Smith and Kogan pages for the deal and maybe the Kogan mobile page and searching for prepaid plan or something similar on Google and then coming back here. Was a little harder this time than I remember before, was about to give up but finally managed to and am seeing the Google ads right now on this page.

From previous history it's quite likely Kogan will offer this again although they may offer some more limited plan next time after the 20th April and only re-introduce the 32GB deal when that deal ends probably ~20 May. Of course it's always for new customers, although so far AFAIK Kogan has not been very strict in enforcing that other than requiring that you don't use the same account to activate the SIM.

In the early days, the deals sometimes lasted longer than a month but recently deals have always lasted only ~1 month. (So voucher expiry date is at most 2 months away if you buy it in the early days of the deal.) There have also been times when the deal on Google ads has been better than the one advertised on their sites but that hasn't been the case for 4 months or so, at least AFAIK. Actually last time they did this, they said the deal would end on the 30 or 31 May IIRC then they cancelled it early. But I strongly suspect anyone who did order that deal did get a voucher on the 29 or 30 June although I waited too long & didn't hear from anyone who did so can't say for sure.

I know from previous discussions some people have had problems with the vouchers. But I've used them without problems including a few days before expiry date.

  • No rollover Data. Skinny would be a better option.

  • Great deal, I ordered mine just before easter and it has arrived today. Set up was very easy and the dashboard allows a one-click to turn off auto-renewal. That way there will be no suprises after 30 days and can make a decision then about what monthly package to buy etc. This is probably the cheapest $/gb on the market at the moment
