great price going to Australia, pity the return leg is double the price! works out to be $200 approx return which is still good.
I tried a few dates for flights. $220 return Inc $205.03 taxes and charges. It's all airport fees and such. Airnz gets almost nothing from the flights.
that's an insane percentage being airport taxes :/
Amazing how much airports differ too. On a rewards flight to Europe, I was comparing various cities. Flying into Madrid or Nice vs Heathrow or Paris saves you literally hundreds in taxes!
It could be even cheaper for the return journey if the Australian government didn't charge $60 to leave the country in their passenger movement charge. One reason the return flight is always more expensive
Really great deals to Oz have booked to go to Brisbane for 5 nights staying at the awesome looking brand new 66 floor Skytower for 2 people for just on $900. Silly season for cheap travel.
And yes I took 2 seats but they still have 500 available!!!
Based on the last week's 'limited' deals to Australia, I wouldn't worry too much about the 500 seat thing. Must've lasted for almost a week and every day there was always 500 available.
