  • Bought one from last deal…

    • That is a good price, but now post GST change this has been the cheapest I have seen. Now they are selling at $434.95 now.

catch had the black ones for cheaper the other day, not as cheap as the above deal, but cheaper than this

  • Thanks. Missed the last deal so helps me :)

I strongly recommend people not to buy these from Dick Smith. Dick Smith as we all knew it is gone. They are now only a shell of a website for Kogan, which ships stock from an Australian warehouse.

Have a look online and you'll find it is incredibly difficult to resolve any issues, including warranty ones, with their customer service.

Just spend the extra $20 and buy these from a reputable local firm like Noel Leeming.

    • Eh, this is very much a "your millage may vary" scenario. I've bought multiple items from them since they left NZ and the 2 times I've had to get in touch - one being a warranty replacement and the other being the items not arriving due to PBT miss handling - they have been fantastic.

The warranty replacement got done within 3 days and the item shipped. The other case got resolved in 2 days with the 5 items I ordered being resent.

Unless you've personally had bad experience with them, I'd take everything with a grain of salt. People are quick to complain vs quick to praise.

I have bought two pieces of electronics for them which were sold as 'new' but both had the factory seals broken and were clearly returned based on how they were repacked.

If I am buying a $400 pair of headphones I'd prefer to spend the extra $20 to make sure what I am getting is sealed and with local warranty.

Fair enough. I haven't come across anything like that yet. I'm just waiting for catch.co.nz to bring the black ones down to their $307 something price that they sold the silver ones for not too long ago.

        • Would you be able to price match these?

          • +1

@doublejaypotato: No. I have tried but as expected no store in NZ is going to pricematch a digital retailer from overseas. That being said, check out the new deal on these from Qantas on the front page of Cheapies. It's local, and cheaper than this one!

    • yeah they sent me some speakers without box, just in photocopier paper boxes taped together, im pretty sure they were a used return but they ddnt seem to even care.

      will never use again

      • One bad experience is all that it takes. And on the other side of that coin, everything I've ordered has arrived as advertised, so would definitely use again.

few hundred dollars, yes thats enough to make me tell every single person i know to stay the fucj away. maybe if they had even cared, but when i asked why they weren't in a box (new) they said some bullshit about sending as cheap as possible…. i guess selling 2nd hand goods is cheap. and reading messages above me i see im not the only one. STAY AWAY FROM DICK SMITH

@quote: I'm sorry you've had one bad experience ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. My missing items (PBT's issue) got resent today from their warehouse with minimal involvement from my side other than sending an email saying "hey these never arrived…"

Price is $369.99 + shipping. South Island has higher shipping fees.

    • -2

plus they are probably used, so you could get cheaper elsewhere

  • It is a price not available at the moment. I haven't had personal issue on anything I have purchased from them so I don't mind buying through them but each to their own.

Your money so you should spend it wisely.
