The Openhost apparent discounted price of $39.95 NZD is a ripoff. Try looking at 1stdomains, domains4less etc first.

    • Premium providers provide a premium service. Some businesses pay their telcos for each component, Domain Registration + DNS Hosting + Redirect etc. The new Openhost control panel integrates all of these features and is expanding out to other cloud services that can be linked directly to the domain registration and under the same login. Plus free support.

      • What's the definition of a premium provider?

All of those extra services you mention are included in the price?

How about these, are they included in the price?
        - DNSSEC
        - Full range of DNS record types
        - Domain Privacy

I current register with CrazyDomains ($23/year for a .NZ domain) but have to pay extra for the latter two, and they don't have the former. So I run my own nameservers on a Sydney VPS and just go without Domain Privacy at the moment. I also have some .coms via DomainMonster (which still operates but has been bought) but they give me free Domain Privacy.

If you offer all three of those at no extra cost I might be interested in swapping. If not, what does "Premium Provider" mean?

For example, CrazyDomains offers all that you mention for an extra cost but the domains themselves are half the price.

        • Hi Dan…

A bit late of a reply, but

Yes All DNS records and management is included, as is Domain privacy on NZ domains, there is a charge on gTLDs.

DNSSEC, is available, but currently not working correctly (wrong signing key), but this should be resolved soon. It is free.

          Cheers
          M
