  • im not that happy with my blunt, 1st time i ever used it in hanmer last week, went inside out and snapped (glad i didnt try it in wellington where i live) sure they are going to fix it, but i gotta send it to them which costs, meanwhile the umbrella i was forced to buy or be wet all holiday has not broken.

    • From what i remember, Blunt paid for my shipping expenses when i had my previous umbrella replaced by them a few years back though I did buy it from them through their own website.
If you purchased it through the Barkers deal and had it shipped to you, technically Barkers should be the ones who have to handle the warranty for you since you purchased it from them and they would be liable to pay for your shipping.

I do agree its not an Amazing umbrella for the full RRP price one would have to pay for it. If you can get it for around 40-50$ its not too bad considering the warranty it comes with.

      • same deal here. Took it to a Barkers store when it broke (after the first windy day we had) and they refused to return it. They gave me a card to contact Blunt and had to pay to post it to them

        • you should have just fought for it. it's clearly got their Barkers brand on it. and that is where you bought it from. Same thing happened to me, however I had my sister to bring it to barkers and they just followed their instruction, send it away yourselves they said.

    • If this happens try invoking the CGA; it is up to the retailer to fix or remedy the situation, they CANNOT brush you off to the supplier or manufacturer!

  • Not that happy with our mini one either, turns inside out all the time (doesn’t break) and its not big enough to protect us from the rain

  • +1

blunt umbrellas are decent quality but not exactly innovative or industrial strength. i've never heard about them outside of NZ, but they do a good job marketing themselves as world famous.
