Adding on, the Apacer AH356 32GB USB 3.1 Flash Drive is $6.99, for those who want better transfer speed.

The reviews in the comments say 18mb/sec and another says 23mb/sec, which is OK but not really in line with what people might expect from a USB-3 drive.

Mind you, I looked up the real-world write speeds for the Cruzer Blade and it's 6mb/sec which is pretty awful for a 64gb USB.

Yep, USB sticks are notorious for poor transfer speeds. In this day and age it's much wiser to invest in a portable SSD, or just continue using an external HDD.

They have horrible write speeds, but once your data is on the stick, copying from the USB (not cutting) yields 100+mb/s from my experience(more if your computer has an ssd rather than HDD

        • +1 grab a cheap new or used SSD and enclosure and get 100MB+\sec via USB3. If size is an issue you can get m2 enclosures too.

      • Yeah, it's USB 2.0. The Cruzer Blade range is very old, I'd steer clear.
