Do people really use this? I mean..doesn't google assistant on any android smart phone do what alexa does and more?
I got mine for free so I can't say if I'd pay money for one, but I use it in the kitchen for music and timer while I'm cooking. I use it everyday so I think it's quite handy to have. The speakers obviously aren't amazing, but better than phone speakers.
Yes you're right. It's the same functionality as siri or google assistant on your phone but you can say your phone can do everything your car stereo does too and everyone uses their car stereo.
What I like about it is it's in the room and I can just use it - no digging out the phone from my pocket or whereever, Alexa is just there.
I haven't explored the whole control lights, TV etc… I use mine for music (with a decent speaker) and it's very handy in the kitchen - I often ask Alexa for conversion (Alexa, how many grams of butter in one cup? How hot is 400 farenheit in celcius? Set timer for 25 minutes etc…)
I know someone who's kids use it just to tell them fart jokes ;-)
Anyone have this paired to a smart tv? can it be used to switch the tv on/off or change channels?
Got 2 of them. Very handy for my vision impaired father.
