  • The 8TB is $254NZD, 6TB $166NZD(all time low).

  • The 8TB Elements is down to NZ$213 and 10TB for NZ$328 on Amazon and it’s the same drives inside.
    MyBook is PITA if you’re shucking!Had more luck pulling a white labeled red drive from Elements than MyBook.

    • Thanks I'll add that in

      Was briefly looking to see if other drivers were cheaper but amazons search and filter is pita as too.

  • +1

    Great price, in terms of $/TB
    10TB = $35.62/TB
    8TB = $33.07/TB
    6TB = $28.64/TB

    Very good price for 6TB, locally they're about twice the price here ($50+/TB)!

  • I'll just stick to buying WD passport ones as these are a bit bigger for my needs

  • Seems the Easystore drives are better and Helium filled white labels

  • Part of World Backup Day Apparently:

  • And just use a pair of pliers to turn the straight US power plug pins into angled NZ pins. If not shucking, that is.

    • Or just use an adapter…. Assuming they're rated for 240V

      • ???? The whole point is so you don't have to buy an adaptor. And, I wouldn't use one of those adaptors anyway, they are not safe for permanent use.

        All the ones I bought support 120-240v, good to check though.

  • Was just looking at these today for a RAID1. Another option is the older 2016 Seagate ones, they're $139USD for the 8TB plus like $12 shipping.

    Drives inside aren't as good as the EasyStores, though (WD Reds vs Seagate Barracudas).
