Mealpal is offering $30 off their plans. These guys heavily market deals up to 50% off in other countries so this is a fairly decent offer from their normal price.

Lunch by subscription service is being delivered in Auckland and Wellington from Tuesday.

Mealpal, a new app targeting CBD workers, promises subscribers lunches for under $8, up to 40 per cent cheaper than buying the same meal over the counter.

Founded in 2016 by Mary Biggins and Katie Ghelli, MealPal is available in select cities across Australia, the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Singapore, and France.

anyone used this service? the website says very little about wtf they are offering and what sort of meals are included (without signing up and paying money?). main question is (for anyone who used it), is this friendly for anyone who has dietary restrictions (basic ones like vegetarian, vegan, or more complex ones like allergies)? or is this service basically only good for people who eats basically anything?

    • Some of the meals are viewable right below the map (where I pasted the list from). Some veggie dishes but yes its whatever dish the venue decides that it will be for the day. You'll know the day before what its going to be. I've never used the service but that's my understanding from people who've used it in Australia/Singapore.

      Map

  • Yeah i'm vegetarian, so thinking the meals are pre-arranged not a pick out of these selection from each place (seeing as the list with (v) is marked seperate. Which would mean that most places won't server my needs

    • Me too. hmm, oh right, i assume the (V) ones are dedicated vegetarian dishes? but i know for a fact that atleast few of these (non V marked) stores, CAN make most dishes they offer vegetarian (by removing or substituting the meat). i guess the more direct question to ask is, is there a way to request alterations to your "booked" meal (like asking them to "make it vegetarian", or "remove carrots")?
