  • It states:
Only one (1) claim may be made per Eligible Product purchased.

Does this mean we can person more than one and submit more than one claim?

    • Ive purchased same items before and claimed for them with brother. I purchased the item twice seperately to get 2 receipts and filed the claims under 2 seperate names and it worked.

      • hi there how do they pay you ? bank transfer or cheque ? thank you, and please advise what is the quality of this printer ?

        • You can opt for bank transfer or a cheque sent to you by mail. It gives you the option to choose either when you file for the cashback claim.
Print quality seems decent, just the usual inkjet types similar to the canon ones that previously end up being free. I find the scanning and build quality and responsiveness of this brother printer to be excellent while the Canon printer I got last year was not as easy to use and scanning was really slow.
For this price, it is an amazing printer, just its a bit bigger than I had expected.

          • @Tomo: thank you very much for your help,

    • Be careful when purchasing multiple Brother printers, they do not appreciate giving out multiple cashbacks! They once rang me up asking why I cashbacked 10 of them; I believe they were fishing for me to say I was selling them, which is against the T&Cs. Canon don't care though, they were happy to help cashback over 20 at the same time!
These cashbacks are ploys for people to purchase the extremely overpriced ink cartridges by selling the printer itself for cheap, so I always try buying the "third party" counterfeit consumables from Ali/Ebay etc.

  • +1

Got mine just now for $19.40 price matched with noel leemings and used the $10 off welcome code. =)

    • Hi Tomo,

What is the $10 off welcome code?

I can't see it on CC - just the two Brother printers?

      Thanks,

      Alan.

      • +1

        MYNL16W10

        • Can you use the $10 off code if you shop in-store?

If not, how did you price match from the NL website?

          Thanks,

          Alan.

          • +1

@Alan6984: price matched online through their online chat system. I don't think you can use the code if you go and price match it in store.

            • @Tomo: Cool - Thanks!

            • +1

@Tomo: Just did it in store, priced match and also managed to apply discount code. Can confirm it works

        • +7

I was on the Warehouse Stationery site (to get the URL so that I could provide it to NL online chat), when WHS popped up offering a $15 discount of anything over $179.00

So I went ahead and purchased from their site, and got it for $164.40 - $150.00 cashback = $14.40 with free delivery.

          Alan.

          • @Alan6984: Score! Well done Alan

          • @Alan6984: Code for the $15 off is FCB15D179 if anyone is interested.

            • @NeverLucky: Code isn't working here, might have to pop up for you to be able to use it

              • @NeM2k2: I logged out of my account and checked out as a guest and the code worked for me.

            • @NeverLucky: I might be wrong, but I think that code may be unique to you at the time.

No harm in trying it I guess!

              Alan.

              • @Alan6984: what did you do to trigger the pop-up?

                • @negativity: I can't get the pop-up either on my laptop or phone

                  • @gunman: It wouldn't work on my phone either so I just ordered on the work PC at work.

                    • @ERIS: That's weird. I can't get it to pop up in any of the computers, phones in our household.

          • +1

@Alan6984: I got the same code FCB15D179, would only popup when I was signed out, and I disabled all my ad blockers and no script.

            • @paratax: Thank you. I finally got it working by disabling all my adblockers

  • Purchased one thanks, been needing a new printer for a while and waiting for a deal like this to pop up. My folks have ordered one too

    • Did you get it for $164.40 too?

      • Unfortunately not, couldn’t get the code to pop up.
Reading the comments now it was probably my ad blocker that cost me $15! Ah well

  • Got one for $164.40 from WS thanks! Just the right time as my canon from last year's cashback ran out of ink. For anyone trying to get the $15 coupon, it has to pop up on your computer for the code to work. Tried clearing my cookies several times and opening in incognito for it to pop up after 20 tries. Keep trying and you'll get it!

  • If you bought it online and have not seen the actual unit, be sure to clear alot of table space lol.

    • Totally agree… just picked mine up and was surprised how big the box was compared to the canon one from before.

  • -2

Does this support WiFi and google print?

(Lol sorry too damn lazy to check)

  • WHS $15 code FCB15D179 doesn't work for me.

    • Go to the checkout screen, and then wait on that page or go back and forward and the popup may appear. I used firefox, ans it didn't work in chrome, as well as turned off adblockers. So maybe only a few people get the discount.

  • Wow what a price. Are they just trying to clear them out with the cashback or do they assume some people wont bother with the cash back. Profit margin at all?

    • This happens quite a lot when a new cashback promotion begins, there is usually a small cross-over period between an existing promotion and the new cashback, once retailers find out about it, they generally use the cashback promotion as the "sale" and don't deeply discount the printer.
As for the manufacturer, they are banking on you upgrading your "old" (hopefully different manufacturer) printer to this one and buying their expensive inks which have like a 400% profit margin on them. It literally pays itself off if you buy a whole set of inks.
Printers don't change much nowadays, so they have to work hard to get people to upgrade, and a big cashback lures new buyers in.

  • I remember this deal :) i literally purchased one for like 4$

    • There was a deal once where u made a few dollars, cash back was higher than the price

  • Does anyone know if this has an A3 paper tray, rather than just single manual feed?

    • The A4 tray can extend to hold A3 paper, you simply convert it. A bit annoying when switching between the two sizes quite often.

      • Thanks. At least that is better than my current Brother which I have to manually feed each A3 piece of paper. So it is worth it to me

  • Warehouse stationary $15 discount

I got it by clicking add to cart, then clicked 'view cart', moved the mouse cursor out of window or switched tabs, the discount popup popped up in the WHS tab.

  • -2

What would happen if you return the printer after cashback?

    • I'm not sure what return policies are nowadays, but it used to be within 7 days? Most cashbacks don't payout within 14 days and they are probably actively looking for returns before payout day.
There's probably something in the terms and conditions for the cashback that forbids returning it and would require you to return the cashback?

      • Don't see anything on https://www.warehousestationery.co.nz/content/information-ab…

It says on Brother they pay within 5 days.

          1. If the Claimant returns a product for which it has received a Cashback Amount the Claimant must return any Cashback Amount already paid to the Claimant by Brother in respect of that product.

From Brother cashback Ts & Cs.

Also the 5 days is from approval, approval I believe is not instant and can take a week or so.

    • Probably wouldn't notice. But ethically questionable

  • WS Deal expires 1st Feb so they probably didn’t realise there would be a cash back at the same time as their sale

    • Would it be illegal or something to do so. Do you also know if you can return in-store if bought online.

  • Sorry new to this cashback stuff. So in order to use cashback, I need to wait for the package to be delivered and look for the product serial number. Only after this can I fill out the form for cashback and submit, am I right?

    • +1

Yeah, they normally want the serial number with a scan of the receipt, or serial number with the store name/location and receipt number.
Last brother cashback I did, i think it took 2 weeks to get the money.

      • Had cash back approved in 10 minutes. Cash will be in account in 5 days.

  • We got a couple of these units at work, you can buy generic ink for it (XL 1500 page cartridges) for about $45 a set from Aliexpress:

Printer itself is good, no real complaints, switching between A3 and a4 is a bit of a micky, but Ll the features you need are there and it prints real quick.

    • Unlike HP printers, I have found the brother ones do seem to work well with generic ink.

      • does anyone know if canon does to?

        • It works fine. Just gotta get good pigment inks and a resettable cartridge.

        • Our Canon Maxify that I got through this deal 3 years ago worked for a while on Generic Ink but then started needing deep cleaning everytime before we used it to work properly so was using a ton of ink. Replacing it with the one from this current deal.

          • @apocalypso: I also had the same printer, absolute shocker of a unit. This brother unit has been much better, I haven't noticed it do a single clean in the past few months (always on). Printing a page every week or so, so very low volume.

  • i cant visit the brother website, anyone know the validity period to claim cashbacks?

    • website working now..

  • Got 1 at $164.40, managed to refresh till the promo code popped up…LOL, thanks people!

  • BTW, it's sold out online.

  • +3

Available now at PBtech for $179 link

    • Does anyone know if the AKLCOUNCIL promo code for PBTech still works? I just tried it and it's invalid.

      • It's not a promo code, it's a membership code, reread the deal for info.

        • Ah right. I just created a new account and was able to get the discount applied. Looks like the AKLCOUNCIL membership code gives you about $20 off, which is also what I got using the PBTech work membership code for my company's work account. Oh well.

    • PBTech's price has gone up

  • Sorry that was wrong info. Cashback is still on.

  • Is anyone able to see chat link in Noel Leeming website?

    • +1

took me a while to figure out that I need to disable all my ad blockers to be able to see that.

      • Thanks. It still work for me. I got an "Email Us" link saying they Chat is not available now.

        • That happens when all their "agents" were engaged. If you keep the browser open and wait, it will turn red when someone becomes available. You must start a "chat" session ASAP before someone else grabs it…LOL

          • @akrotohur: lol thanks. will keep refreshing the page

      • I disabled all my adblockers and even used IE (which doesn't support extensions etc) and still don't see the web chat lol.

        • NVM I see it in IE now, maybe had to clear cache.

  • huh it's sold out warehouse stationery, "find in store"

    • PB Tech has it for $179 + shipping

  • Already have confirmation from Brother that my claim has been approved!

    • How did you send the serial number?

      • I purchased in store & so it was on the box!

        • Ah.. I forgot you could buy in store :) I'm still waiting for my delivery

  • +11

I had some spare time so researched all the cashback deals available from HP and Brother at the moment and then looked up the best prices of those printers to see what the best deals are. Hopefully this helps someone! :) Not sure if any are worth of a new deal posting, perhaps the HP 7720..

  • Everyone seem to have bumped up their prices. Rrp now >$200. Sneaky

  • Thanks OP. Pricematched PB Tech (before they put their price up) with Noels online last night, and picked it up this morning (with $10 newsletter discount of course!) $169.00 — Brilliant.
FYI Noels still have stock, but at $210.00
    https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/shop/computers-tablets/printer…

  • I tried to contact Noel Leeming via their webchat while they were still selling the printer at a cheaper price. Webchat wasn't available (due to too many in the queue), so I sent them an email instead. They got back to me yesterday and the printer price has already gone up. However, they were nice enough to provide me a coupon code to price match Warehouse Stationery's price at $189. I then used the $10 discount code and was able to get this at $179.

If anyone still wishes to try, maybe just contact Noel Leeming and explain that you tried to get in touch with them but didn't get to speak to anyone and now the price has gone back up, so maybe they'll be nice enough to provide you a coupon as well.

  • Has anyone had theirs delivered yet?

    • :(

      Hi,

There has been a delay in sending your items

We haven't been able to send the following items to you immediately but are working to locate your items from other Warehouse stores. This can sometimes add an additional few days to your delivery.

      • Spoke too soon. Just recieved mine. They sent me that same message when I was buying some stationary. THey eventually just refunded me :(

      • That's interesting. My unit from Warehouse Stationary was sent directly from HP on behalf of WHS.

    • Received mine today. :)

  • Now there are some brother printers for sale around $100 in CHCH Facebook market place. Someone making a quick buck from this lol
