I would suggest moving it from CD once you get the UDAI, extremely poor customer service from prior experience. You can transfer .nz domains free of charge(ie to metaname)

Without trying to get into a political discussion, is it poor form to get one of these domain names if one isn't maori? (Serious question, not trolling)

  Personally, I don't see issues with it, if it's for a genuine reason (Just a cheap domain for testing would be fine) as opposed to being a racist, ie: food.maori.nz redirecting to kfc.co.nz.
