A good printer for the price if you need good old black and white laser, has wireless as well. I got the earlier one of these and it lasted years but needed the wireless upgrade.

Inkjet vs laser. Most likely they would be looking for a laser printer if they were planning to get this model.

What's the cost of replacing the toner cartridge like on these?
It's cheaper to replace the printer at around $70 but not good for the environment.
This can be true but check how much toner the printer has, some new printers don't give you a full toner.
you only get a "Demo" amount of toner wwhen you buy the printer, so really not worth it.
It's long been the rumour that you get a "demo" or a "starter pack" but that's never been verified.
The one in my printer has printed at least 500-700 pages so far.
I have a 2365DW which was last year $60 after the rebate. Much cheaper toner replacement are from Amazon. Just bought a double pack generic TN660 toner which is the US name for TN2345 that is sold in NZ. Paid NZ$51 incl. shipping. Not bad for 2 x 2700 pages. So far it works perfectly.
If you are not worried about warranty I buy the compatible toner on trademe usually around $50.
