This just shows how big the markups are for furniture. $1200 RRP for a fabric occasional chair?

We really need IKEA here in NZ.

Yes chairs in particular are just ridiculous. Im sure they are still doing ok on 75% off.

  • This is a nice couch just wish the chaise was a bit longer.

They've gone down to $2300 ish with bargaining previously with the wife but we didn't pull the trigger as the chaise want quite long enough for our needs.

  • $65 for shipping on a bedside table…. No thank you

      • or you can Collect In Store for $5

      • Rest of NZ already pays more than ak for petrol, even after u add on ya tax

Just bought 2 couches $65 delivered in total for both. Looks like its a flat rate. So not so good for one bed side table but ok for multiple items.

I hate farmers. They masquerade as a high end department store but in reality they pedal overpriced shit.

Also their return policy sucks. The amount of trouble I had trying to return a child car seat that didn't fit in my car was ridiculous. All they were prepared to offer was a credit note.

No such issues in the Warehouse.

    Just a short rant. Apologies.

    • Well I wouldn't by expect them to take the car seat back if you have opened it a and the get are not obliged to either.

The warehouse is unusual their return policy is really lax. I think they probably have free the best customer service in New Zealand when it comes to returning things.

    • Yep, it seems to be an unfortunate trend these days: import junk, charge a premium and let people assume it's quality. They can probably afford to have it returned and replaced twice and still make 200%.

Anyone considering buying a $1400 dining table that's just an average wooden veneer must be out of their mind!

I don't think I could bring myself to buy furniture new - buying used is so much cheaper and you can tell how well it's lasted, and therefore if it's actually quality.
