90

We’ve just launched our new Heathcotes website - www.heathcotes.co.nz - much faster and easier to use than the old one.

We’re usually very competitive on major whiteware brands, especially once you factor in extras like free delivery, bonus New World vouchers, and price matching.

I thought i'd get the word out and share some deals we've got running over Kings Birthday too.

Samsung 11KG (WW11CGC04DAESA) at $1149 with a $50 New World Voucher. Comparable model at Noel Leeming is $1299 (https://www.noelleeming.co.nz/p/samsung-11kg-smart-front-loa…)

There are other good deals there too, for example Westinghouse 564L Quad Door Fridge - Matte Charcoal Black (WQE5600BA) at $1994, see https://www.heathcotes.co.nz/westinghouse-564l-quad-door-fri…
Beta Electrical have it for $3336 see https://www.bettaelectrical.co.nz/westinghouse-564l-matte-ch…

We’re continuing to roll out more deals, features, and improvements over time, so we’re always open to feedback from the ChoiceCheapies community as well.

  • Given that you work at Heathcotes, can you tell us about the return rates on Samsung washing machines?

Canstar customer ratings indicate that they're in the bottom half of the washing machine brands they survey on.

    • The honest truth is I don’t have access to hard return-rate figures, and what comes across my desk is only a very incomplete picture.

From my personal experience though, Samsung laundry products are reliable nowadays. Earlier models years ago probably had a more mixed reputation, but Samsung have invested heavily into the appliance side of the business and the current product is quite good in my opinion.

    • Anecdotally, we had our machine blow a main board, have it replaced, blow the replacement board again, then take several months for the NZ agents to get another spare in. Eventually got the whole maching replaced under the CGA.

I will never, ever again buy a Samsung appliance. Avoid like the plague.

      • Same experience here. Replaced with an LG washing machine which is way way better. Never again a Samsung.

  • Incorrectly states New World is the store in the title

    • It seems Bonus $50 New World Voucher is offered with the purchase of washing machine @Heathcotes

      • Yeah, it was fixed after I posted. Originally it ended with @ New World

    • Didn’t have my coffee

      • It’s Friday.
        You can have something stronger!

  • That username is going to be a nightmare if you ever have to reset your password.

    • Care to explain lol?

      • I don't know about changing the password but I would change the username in case someone judges the company by how good its official is at spelling.

      • It's not heathcotesofficial, but that's what it was intended to be.

When resetting your password you need both the email and username, and unless you consistently spell official wrong, it's not intuitive to make a typo twice.

I foresee a great many, "No username matching this email was found"

  • Don't buy Samsung whiteware. Like me, you'll regret it.

  • I have a Samsung washer (not this one) and not sure I'd buy one again. The belt comes off too easily and the drum bolt works itself loose from time to time and needs tightening. Other than this, it's fine.

    • Direct drive ones are better.

  • Swimming with the sharks in here Heathcotes. Insane code stacking 4D chess deals available via several chain linked VPN's and off-shore edu emails via Samsung app will make it difficult to achieve competitive pricing, ballsy move though Mr Heathcote - i'll give you that.
