NZ to Cairo $280, NZ to Dubai $130 flying Qantas/Emirates

80

Appears to be a pricing error - search fares using Google Flights, then book via the Qantas website.

Obviously a chance that the airline will cancel these fares, but worth a shot - if they cancel, they will refund. Just don't book any onward travel or nonrefundable expenses until the situation is clearer.

  • Thanks for this. Did you manage to book for this price? When I click through to Qantas to book, it goes back up to $2000+. I think Google flights may be picking up on a promotion - buy one way, get the return for $100 etc. and then showing the lowest prices as 2 x $100?

    • I'm getting the same issue, damn was super keen haha.

    • It was an actual price mistake. Qantas fixed it in their booking engine this morning, but some price finder sites still have the old cache in their systems.
Flights were sold at those prices but whether they get cancelled is to be seen.

  • back to normal now

  • Sorry guys - looks like it has been shut down. Sad.

I had booked return tickets to Dubai from NZ for $130ish.

Feeling disappointed, as I had found an amazing route for New Year - WLG-SYD-BKK-DBX, DBX-MEL-WLG for only $260 return. Was about to book that when I saw prices had gone up again.

    • Which site did you manage to book in? There are still a few $191 deals showing on Google Flights, but the same story when I click through to book through Qantas

      • direct through Qantas. safest way to book as the tickets are issued immediately, unlike an OTA where tickets can take some time to be issued.

        • Good on you. Hope it gets honoured.

I managed to book to Cairo in November. Fingers crossed the booking isnt cancelled

  • Thanks for the post, it's too good to be true unfortunately…

  • Great deal..unfortunately I missed out as I saw the deal just now…hope your fares get honoured

  • I booked and mine has since been cancelled (well it is no longer accessible via Manage my Booking and the error is 'Cancelled'). I haven't received an email from Qantas confirming the cancellation.

    • same. received an email confirming a refund, but no cancellation email.

I did get a phone call this afternoon. They said, in a very matter of fact way, "your flight has been cancelled due to a pricing error and we'll issue a refund". Didn't see any benefit in arguing. Dreaming of Cairo still added a little excitement to an otherwise dreary Thursday. Hopefully next time pans out!
