  • You can go with Noel Leeming with their Price Promise

  • Limited 10 year warranty.
    * Warranty not valid when used in dashcam, CCTV, surveillance camera and other write-intensive devices.

    • Is that a bit odd to have that exclusion? Also how would they know? That exclusion potentially could invalidate it for any use, as it is subjective what 'write intensive' devices are.

Its not odd. That exclusion is on many sd cards… Even sandisk has that exclusion~

        • Just because some others may also do it, does that make it right to have that exclusion in the fine print? Do they have more expensive cards that don't have exclusions, and is it there to upsell you to the more expensive cards?
The last card I purchased was a Kingston, and it has a lifetime warranty without excluding for that sort of thing.

        • @nzmax: From their perspective, its right for them to make money. They offer a price, purpose for their product. You as the customer have the opportunity to choose it or not. As a customer, you would probably think its not right as you want the most out of your money. Its all perspectives here.
Plus you have to understand how SD cards work. These were never designed for continuous write. The NAND chip slowly dies off every time you write in it. Cheap cards were designed for less amount of write as its cheaper to make. The more expensive ones were designed for more amount of write hence costing more. To provide the same amount of xx years warranty, they had to put in a provision so people won't be going over the estimated write quantity of these cards. Each card serves their own purposes so I don't really think what they do is wrong.
Most of these sd cards are made for photos or small duration video recordings. If you really want to be covered by warranty for continuous write, you could look for a high endurance sd card which usually gets covered.
