Philips 32" Full HD 1920x1080 IPS Monitor with Speakers (BDM3201FD) ($259 + $15 Delivery) @ Dick Smith

80

Cheapest price ever found in anywhere. Last week I bought this for 299, that was the lowest price I found for a 32-inch monitor, now another $40 off from that lowest price. Unlucky me. :)

If you took freight protection, then the total cost of the item including delivery is $276.99.

    kogan… beware

    • It's a Phillips monitor. Are you worried about kogan/dicksmith? They've got good reputation in Australia

      • Only that they are not nz based so are not covered by CGA (as far as I know??) please correct me if i am wrong

        • Also that wouldn't stop me buying this monitor :) if i was loooking at the moment

        • Well they are a registered business in NZ as they have an NZBN (9429042362449) which would mean they have to comply with the laws and regulations here I assume.
The only thing I'm not a fan of kogan/dicksmith is they have dirty selling tactics on items over the cost of $400. Don't think they hold any stock in NZ so everything they send to you either come from Aus or Hong Kong which would mean you have to pay for import tax + fees. As a NZ registered company, those prices should include all those costs when you check out as a lot of people still assume Dick Smith to be what is used to be just taken over buy another company.
Its not the case for this monitor though as its under $400. I think anything under $400 from them is pretty safe.

It says on their site they have to comply with the CGA, returns go to a NZ location too.

  • Has anyone here actually had warranty claims with Kogan/DS … and how did it go?

A cordless kettle showing rust spots after 2 months. They asked for a photo showing the rust spots and a photo showing the power cord cut as evidence I could not use it again. 8 days later new kettle arrived. Zero issues with DS/Kogan's warranty proccess.

  • It has 4 years manufacturer warranty. I guess it is directly from Phillips. So definitely I'm not paying $417 to buy it from Pbtech.

Mine arrived today, ordered Monday, shipped from Australia. No dead or bright pixels and good viewing angles. 32 inch at 1080p isn't the greatest but I knew that before I purchased. Overall good for the price.

  • I ordered one. Shipping was reasonably quick from Melbourne to Auckland, but has a bright pixel right in the centre of the screen. Bad experience so far. Will update once I hear back from customer service (no response after three days).

    • Still no response…

      • After two weeks, DSE told me to contact Philips directly. What a nightmare.

        • Wow, i would inform them that as a retailer it is they also are responsible for fulfilling CGA responsibilities and ask them if absolving themselves by telling you to contact phillips directly. Id also probably CC in the commerce commission. Just to up the ante.

        • @wearnes:
Phillips have been quite good after calling them to initiate the return. Courier came the next day to pick up the faulty monitor. I will hear back (soon) with a resolution - presumably a repair or replacement.
          DSE/Kogan - terrible.

        • @mmaui:

Phillips customer service and warranty is great, no hassle at all. They replaced my Shaver which was in the last month of its warrenty period, now new one has another 3 years of warrenty.

That's why I bought this monitor from Dicksmith with out any hesitation.

Hope everything will sorted out for you, tell us what happened.

        • @mmaui:

thats good to know, nz or aus based?

        • @wearnes:
NZ-based, bought from DSE NZ, but monitor shipped from Melbourne. Going through Philips NZ for the warranty.

        • @eranda:
That's good to hear, gives me some confidence in the process. Will give Philips another week or two before making contact with them again.

        • @mmaui:

The shaver I bought from Phillips dealer in Sri Lanka and got replaced from Phillips New Zealand. It took around 10 days to get the new shaver.

This monitor comes with 4 year Phillips warranty, so I would say nothing to worry.

  • Now it is $279
