  • I was a customer of theirs until 24/10/2016 but I've been with 2degrees since then, will I be able to get this deal?

    • you should ask but im sure you will be fine, most companies either call a new customer someone that has been away for 12 months or even just a customer that isnt a current customer (so current customers dont get the deal) u fit both of those

      • Yer I figure as much but I thought I should double check, they said to ask below :)

I also have another couple of questions for glimp:
        * Orcon usually charge $15 for shipping of the modem, is that also the case with this deal?
        * I'm in Dunedin and can get their Gigatown package for $79.95, if I sign up through this glimp deal will I get Gigatown or the standard 100Mb/s fibre?

For those unsure about Orcon they've been having a bit of a turn around lately and improving their game, they've topped the Truenet results a couple of months in a row and have recently announced that they'll be moving their helpdesk back to NZ. I found their staff on Geekzone to be really helpful when needed too.

          To answer my own questions…
          * Orcon do charge the $15 and the modem isn't optional so that is a required charge
          * It looks like I can get Gigatown for the price

        • @quasar:

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier, been super hectic here.
Both of those answers are correct.

  • How much do they charge for re-installation if I move to a new place?

This is via glimp.co.nz and your username is glimp. Are you associated with the company? If so can you please call that out?

    • Fixed.

      • Thank you!

I am an existing customer of Orcon, not on contract. Moving house, I called them and insisted they apply this deal to my new house and they did.

I'm having a lot of fun with this - I'm trying to switch my existing fibre connection over from 2degrees and Orcon put through the wrong request type to Chorus, they put it through as there's no existing connection and I'm moving to a new house, not just a transfer. I provided all my details for my existing connection to Orcon (including my 2degrees account number) but they still managed to stuff it up. When Chorus contacted 2degrees they then rejected it because it would kill my existing fibre connection (good guys 2degrees), and for the past 3 days my connection status with Orcon has been showing as cancelled on Orcon's website. I rang them up and they reckon it's not actually cancelled and they've got a ticket in with Chorus, but I'm very close to telling them to cancel the transfer and I'll stick with 2degrees.
