    It's $38 (+ GST I think) for renewal after the first year, $5 / year for domain privacy (hiding your name, email and home address from the Whois search).

      who cares if no one searches them by chance, they make for awesome catchall's. They could also be used as an easier way to rdp/ftp to home etc. Plus they're free

          true, but I normally pay USD$1 for a new .xyz (or similar) domain each year (I don't care about renewing them, just get a new one) so I guess it depends on each persons use, but for me, it's amazing :)
