500MB to say thanks
To thank you for your patience while we’re updating our systems, we’ve begun adding 500MB of free national mobile data to all Prepay, Pay Monthly and small business mobile customers who have used the 2degrees network within the last 30 days. This data should be added to your balance before Sunday night (5th March).

  • I'm not a 2Degrees customer but that seems like pretty shitty compensation

    • Why's that? The problem was a pretty big non event, blown way out of proportion. Pretty sure there was no network outage at all.

      • Perhaps the media have blown it up, I heard their online system was down for up to 2 weeks so customers couldn't top up.

        • Yea, the online system was the issue. I personally couldn't pay my bill, but that's on them. I just paid it once the facility became available again. Top ups can be purchased at nearly every corner store and supermarket for most providers, so that's a pretty easy work around.

          The biggest issue I read about was not being able to track data usage, but then again that's on the provider to provide a solution. I don't imagine anyone would have been affected in nearly the way they would have been if it had been a network outage. Telstra in Aussie has had some issues in the past, and they offered unmetered data for a day as compensation, but I think they used that as a bit of a network stress test as well.
