Im after a good spec android phone, (ideally prefer a model that was released a year ago or so, where the price has come down somewhat) google hasn't been my friend as of yet, and places like price spy don't have all the available companies about.
thinking something along the lines of Huawei mate 8 @ $500 ballpark figure. (I missed the Noel Leeming deal last week :( )
Nexus 5X as cheap as $299 but most places are back to $399 now.
international is fine as long as it comes in under the $400 GST threshold! once imported
and avoiding refurbished… unless it has removable batteries.

Keep an eye out for Amazons specials … I scored my Nexus 6 of there last year for a good price.
Recommend a nexus 5x. Best phone for <$500 and you should be able to buy locally for $399 or less.
Got a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro for around $240 delivered. Got it from banggood but aliexpress sells them too.
Excellent phone for the price Hard to beat those specs at that price.
Only watch out as my one came with a vendor rom which had inbuilt popup ads (bloody annoying!) and couldn't upgrade the firmware OTA. Reflashed the standard global firmware on and it works great.
Are you considering international retailers or just local?
