pretty good deal but I cannot bring myself to do it simply because the 5TB ver was $199 for a brief period last year and i am mad at myself for not buying it at the time!
I have a couple of the 2TB versions of this and theyre great.
On a side note NEVER buy a seagate 3TB drive - their failure rate was close to 40% last year - Hitachi and WD are blowing them out of the water for reliability.

    • It depends on how long you want to wait for another deal to come up I suppose. Mechanical drives have sort of leveled out and haven't really gotten any cheaper in the past 12-24 months (1-3tb sizes) especially when you take into consideration the USD exchange rate.

It seems most of the market is focusing on larger drives (4tb+) and SSDs, so we're not seeing the smaller sizes come down in price much.f

  • Yeah I saw this and thought it was a good idea also.

PBTech were clearing the 3TB Seagate recently and I almost pulled the trigger and then rechecked the reviews.
    F no.
