Hey cheapies!
Just thought I would give an update on power banks after asking for your help and recommendations a while back.
We travelled to Europe with a transit in China. We did the long layover with free transit hotel in Guangzhou, so we exited through Arrivals and came back through security on both the outbound and return trips.
Following advice, I chose power banks with the CCC mark. China does specify they only require this for domestic travel within China, but I'd read a few stories on security agents being strict, so didn't want to risk it.
I'm glad I did because I had exactly that both times! Going through airport security, we had to take out every single digital item (including my Kindle, and even any standalone plugs we had, which I've never been asked before). They picked up our power banks and read their markings to check for the CCC before letting them through.
Just thought I'd let you know what we experienced. I'm sure you might be able to say you're an international traveller and argue that it's not required, but with the potential language barrier and fatigue of being 20+ hours into travelling, I just wanted to avoid that possibility, and I was grateful for it.
We used these two, I did click and collect in Auckland airport after security for the tax free price. The larger Cuktech one was heavy but lasts ages for multiple charges, the small Momax one was nice and nimble but only did just under 1 full charge so more of a little back up/pocket option:

Cheers all!
its a issue with domestic flights in china, not international. they picked your bank up because they were checking the capacity, not the CCC rating. i took a non CCC one through international there a few months back.
