Hey all,
Looking for a new King Single bed, slightly on the firmer side. Wanting to spend about $1k. $1.4K if it's amazing. Less is all good too, haha.
Does anybody know any good value stores? or had a good experience ordering a 'slightly firm' bed online? I think I'll know what I want when I try it, so want to go to a few different stores, buy the best one if it's already on sale, or wait for black friday. With a great review, I guess I might try ordering online.
So far, I went to Beds R Us, and did their 1-10 SleepMap Bed Match, and came out as a "4". Which they describe as someone seeking "Medium-Firm". Unfortunately, they don't have any beds in the "4" category within my budget, the only good one from there for me is a "3" (a slightly too firm option for me). I guess I'm on the hunt for a slightly firm "4" that's within my budget.
Bit complicated, sorry, any advice appreciated!
EDIT: Here is the Beds R Us SleepMap scale that I'm a "4" on:
1: Extra Firm -Ultimate firmness.
2: Firm - High firmness, benefits back sleepers.
3: Cushion Firm - Firm with good cushioning.
4: Medium Firm - Medium + firmer combination. Suits stomach and back sleepers.
5: Medium - Medium + comfort combination. Suits most sleeping positions.
6: Medium Plush - Medium + comfort combination with added cushioning.
7: Cushion Medium - Medium + comfort combination with even more cushioning.
8: Plush - Soft. Provides great pressure relief, contours to body shape.
9: Extra Plush - Extra soft feel, benefits side sleepers.
10: Ultra Plush - Ultra soft. Pure indulgence, floating on a cloud.
I haven't bought a bed for many years, but my recollection is that the bed is irrelevant, and it is the mattress which determines the firmness?
If so, then I guess my first question would be whether you need a new bed at all, or just a new mattress, and even if you need both, you don't need to buy them from the same place if you could get a better deal on the two items separately. Of course, you might get the best deal as a bundle, but you never know.
