Catches

• The price dropped from about $1,490 a few days before we checked, so it might not last.
• You lose a day coming home. The flight home leaves at 11:35pm on a Tuesday and lands on Thursday morning, and both flights are overnight.
• It's American's Main Cabin fare: one checked bag included, seats cost extra, and it isn't fully refundable.
• American's own site showed $1,276. Online travel agencies were $1,286 to $1,308.
• You need an ESTA to fly to or through the US.
