  • No Wi-Fi on device at all but anyone know if it can do wired (USB) tethering to a PC for internet?

    • No it cannot

    • This phone is only good for calling, txting and playing Snake

      • Sounds like a great phone for kids who need to be in contact but not on the internet.

        • Sounds like a great phone for kids who need to be in contact but not on the internet.

We bought one last time for that exact scenario.

    • wasnt sure of the rules….Because there was a previous deal , am i not meant to post a new one ?? Or was i meant to reference the previous deal ? It was $1 cheaper than before so i thought id post it.

      • You are all good mate! Wakrak is only linking previous deal so that we can all read the previous deal and discussions in the comment section.

  • With it being locked to spark/skinny - does that mean you can use any Spark/Skinny sim (so as a burner can easily change numbers) or are you locked to one number?

    • yeah i think you can, and i think this comes paired with one of each sim- at least that was the case for the warehouse deal.

    • Any number on these 2 networks will work fine and you can get it open to all networks for free after 9 months.

      • Upvote for your previous humorous nature.

      • Is it true or did I miss a joke?

      • @NedFlanders:

you can get it open to all networks for free after 9 months.

Do you know how we actually get it freed up to work on other networks after nine months?

        • Unlock a Spark mobile

Some of our mobiles are Network-locked, and will only work on the Spark network.
If you want to use a Network-locked phone on another network, you’ll need to unlock it first.
Bring it into a Spark store and we'll unlock it.
This costs $30 if you've had the phone on the Spark network for less than nine months.
The non-Spark SIM card needs to be placed in the locked Spark mobile phone to enter your unlock code.
When you input the unique unlock code, take extra care as you only have a limited number of chances to get it right.
If you enter an incorrect code too many times your phone will lock for ALL networks.

Might be possible to get it sorted over Phone/Chat but website only mentions instore.

          • @NedFlanders: Cool - thanks!

          • @NedFlanders: Do they do this based on the activation time of the sim that came with the phone or what? Unless they go lookign at the iemi activity or something I am not sure how they would know if you buy this and then never use it with the bundled simcard.

    • Yes, I have used mine from the last $20 run with several of the $1 skinny sims to activate new accounts with places to get the new user deals.

  • Does it have predictive txt messaging where you don't have to press the number key multiple times to rotate to the right letter? That was a game changer when that came in

  • Anyone know if skinny or spark do a pay as you go kind of plan ? i.e instead of paying a monthly amount per week/month , just have a balance sitting there and it only gets consumed when you use it ? Was planning to use the phone on the sim as a spare /emergency phone and not wanting to pay for it constantly to maintain the sim.

    • Yes they both do, Topups are valid for 12 months.
