I bought one in grade 1 about 6 months ago or so. Been pretty good so far.
Similar to Amazon ones.

    Pros

      I've used a Nest Hub as an alarm clock since it launched, and I love it. I only use it via voice to set my daily alarms, and to control lights. It tracks my sleep, too.

      I wouldn't go with this JBL one. Too old to buy new, and Google is eventually going to end Assistant.

    Okay I'm gonna be an egg but I hate these things almost passionately.

    I don't know why, I don't understand my reasoning but I hate them.

      I think the idea is that they will merge a bunch of tech and do everything on one device, rather than having a bunch of different devices. Trouble being they don't do any one thing well, just adequately.

      Yes you can look something up, but just as easy to grab your phone, especially for a more complicated question that needs to be typed.
      Yes you can listen to music, but the sound quality is just OK and it's better to have dedicated speakers, especially for stereo.
      Yes you can watch something but it's better to watch on a tablet or bigger / better dedicated screen.

    Didn't this have a lot of problems? I have a j l playlist which is this without the screen and it's wifi audio has never really been great.

    I love the idea of these things and the xiaomi and Google ones I have are great at multi room audio, just the playlist never really worked

    I've got one of these, had it for 7 years has pretty good sound for the kitchen great timer, radio and Google Assistant but I'm not sure how long Google Assistant will work on it as they shutting it down and I can't see it updating to Gemini because it hasn't had updates for quite a few years. But having said that I've got a Chromecast Audio dongle it still works even though they've stopped supporting it years ago.

      I have a number of third party Google assistant devices (lenovo, sony and jbl - but not this model). They have all transitioned over to the new Gemini platform. My understanding is that you will not get some of the advanced/premium features?

      Got mine today, I got it set up and google assistant works but mine is stuck on link account. When I ask it to open YouTube it does open but goes back to Link Account. Have tried to reset couple of times but not working

        Same thing here. Have tried resetting, using a different device, creating a new home and connecting but same outcome. Hoping someone can share success stories otherwise wondering if talkischeap would consider these 'faulty' for a refund

          If someone don’t have a solution I will definitely be asking for a refund. If they refuse I will simply be doing a charge back. No point in holding on to some junk

          IANAL but if it doesn't work it should be covered under the CGA including the cost of shipping back to them. But contact them first as they may have a solution if they are the ones selling them.

          Exact same experience for me. YouTube and YouTube music seem to work but Spotify doesn’t. Aside from that it is using the new Gemini assistant

      ive got mine too but havent setup yet. Will test today.

      If its faulty and regardless of resetting, same issue persist, just contact TIC and they should ask for it back for a refund.

    Received mine today. I am also stuck in the account linking loop and cannot complete the setup. Not worth spending hours trying to get such an old unsupported device working so I will be returning mine. Just a heads up for anyone else who bought one.

    I have received mine yesterday, and it’s the same with everyone account linking after trying to set up for few hours, I just left a email on their website see if they will respond. I dont wanna keep a junk like this my google nest mini works better.
