  • Man this makes breaking my tws boycott tempting, but then again if i drive there and they declined me (even with emails from head office saying theyd price match in future) id probably go insane

    • Print out their policy, highlight random parts and then have a pair of reading glasses ready to put on for when they start humming and harring.

      • I have done it all, if you get someone that doesn't want to you cant change their mind, they wouldn't even read the emails from head office i was showing them

        • Let me guess, twh Lyall Bay? They are really a pain in the @$$ and rude.

One of the staffs told me to drive to Hamilton to buy it if I want that price. (when I was price matching something in Hamilton)

I haven't been to that place for almost a year now.

          • @KiwiHunts4CheapDeals: Yup lyall bay, haven't been since just after Easter when they wldnt price match Easter eggs.

            • @quote: Yea these staffs are ridiculous. The manager told me the store has their own TnC regardless what the TnC their website says. I asked to see their store tnc and was told they did not have to show me.

When they realised I was voice recording the whole thing, they chucked me out 🤣 I definitely will report this to ComCom when I find the energy. Maybe you can join in!

    • Yeah i agree!

    • Price match at TWH has always been a pain when the competitor is not local. I've found that Chemist Warehouse is a lot easier in such cases. They don't care where the competitor is located.

      • I just dont understand why they mention "local" when it doesnt specify on their t's & c's!

    • I think people forget how good TWH has been to cheapies members in particular instead of banning us like most stores would have the first few times. It's clear deals like this are clearance at the stores they are sold at when you see the deals instore.

Like who remembers the $5 off $5.01 orders on 1-day multiple times when they offered free shipping on top, $1-2 items(malteasers, biscuits, wall chargers etc) with free shipping etc where tens of people did dozens of orders each and it was honoured. That promo happened several times.

Or when Noel Leeming oversold PS5 digital consoles when a deal was posted here by me and upgraded everyone to disc free(tens of units at $180+ each order).

Free shipping codes not being immediately disabled and allowing reuse for years despite that not being the intent behind the offer when they were given to customers.

Plenty of $5 off $5.01 on TWH site itself too where people were grabbing whittakers for ~$1 a block click and collect.

Tons of TheMarket deals below RRP, tons of incorrect offer stacking(4 for the price of 1 etc), 2 for 1 TV's and outdoor furniture that shouldn't have been.

Those deals alone they ate six figures on and never banned their deals from here and honoured basically all of them, pretty generous but reading the comments on deals people dislike them lol.

      • So the individual stores should go against the company's policies ? Wtf you on about ?

You sound like someone ok with scams, scammers are scum

        • The policy allows them to turn down a price promise if it's a clearance price, thats why sometimes they will ring the supermarket itself and confirm if it's a special or clearance. Lets be real, 16pk of these chocs are never $2.99 as a normal/special price

  • Just got a reply from the warehouse online customer service

Unfortunately, we are unable to process a price match for this request as the competitor is a grocery or supermarket retailer.

    • Correct. "Grocery items can only be price-matched in-store."

    • In store for grocery stuff

  • Pukekohe warehouse said no lol. "We don't price match individual stores"

    • That is not what their price match policy says. All pak n save stores are also individually owned, same as all fresh choice stores. But A+ for their creative answer.

    • So tonight i went to buy the toblerones mentioned in the post @ Manukau TWH but they didn't have any stock (was showing 12 but they said "people steal") and were more than happy to price match. Then i went to Sylvia park TWH and they even helped me find them as they were about to close in 5 and said i can buy as many as i want and they'll price match. Bought 8 hehe

  • No longer available

  • got 3 very easily at warehouse glenfield

looks like I did the price match just a few minutes from the sold out on Roxburgh
lady even said I could buy as much as I wanted

  • Had a very interesting argument at WH as they called the manager to price match and he tried to convince me they don’t price match “individual store prices”. They only price match whole company wide prices. I asked him to please read the price match policy and explain to me where does it state that? I get it, I was not the first one at the store asking for a price match at a crazy low price. They price matched it eventually.

    • Dm me please

      • Are you building a case

        • Yep. I need a receipt.

  • Silverdale said no they can't do from individual stores as these could be short dated, clearance or manager specials
