I ran every main NZ airport against seven Pacific destinations across every date from November through June, then went back and checked how many dates actually hold near the cheapest price. That last part matters more than the headline number, because a fare you cannot take is not a deal.
Sample itinerary: Auckland to Rarotonga, Monday 2 November 2026, Jetstar, departs 9:35am, arrives 2:30pm the previous day (you cross the date line), 3h 55m, non-stop, NZ$208 one way.

Auckland $208. Holds near that on 17 of the 35 dates checked, so there is real flexibility here.
Christchurch $297, near floor on 16 of 34 dates.
Wellington $324, near floor on 11 of 26.
Queenstown $348, near floor on 8 of 21.
Fiji (Nadi)
Christchurch $263 on Fiji Airways, non-stop, 4h. Near floor on 11 of 22 dates.
Auckland $292 on Fiji Airways, non-stop. The most consistent fare in the whole scan, near floor on 22 of 34 dates.
Wellington $363 on Air New Zealand, near floor on 18 of 21 dates.
Queenstown $473.
Worth noting Christchurch is $29 cheaper than Auckland to Nadi, which is not the way round most people assume.

The useful bit: Tonga and Samoa out of Auckland barely move. Tonga sits near $314 on 17 of the 20 dates I checked and Samoa near $324 on 22 of 25, so you can pick dates that suit you rather than building a holiday around one departure. Rarotonga and Fiji from Auckland are nearly as flexible. The ones that are genuinely narrow are Wellington and Christchurch to Samoa, which spike hard outside a couple of dates.

Jetstar to Rarotonga is a bare fare. Bags, seats and food all cost extra, and at $208 a checked bag is a big chunk of the ticket. Fiji Airways and Air New Zealand fares include more.
Rarotonga, Nadi and Papeete out of Auckland are non-stop. Most of the others route through Nadi.
These are one ways. I could not get reliable return pricing on the island routes, so price your leg home separately before you commit.
