This is something a bit interesting from Air New Zealand's Grabaseat.

To mark the leap day today, Air New Zealand is offering the chance to take a Leap of Faith and pick up one of Grabaseat's great mystery deals. Get in quick, seats are limited!

    Turns out if you click the 'grabaseat' button, it will bring up the destination. Nonetheless, these are still cheap flights.

    Nice, was looking at the Auckland to Palmy flights, bit of a pain they are just slightly outside uni break though.

    Confused. How does this mystery fare work? Though says fares available, clicking on Grabaseat button just takes you to a normal booking screen where you choose a destination at 'normal' prices. Ofcourse, as per usual, trying to contact help desk at Air NZ doesn't 'help' either.

      Tried it, you don't need to change the destination, departure and arrival date and you will get the $19 fare

      Hi @Jay:

      All Grabaseat deals are booked through the Air New Zealand bookings website. You can identify if you're getting the deal on your selected flight by looking for the "deal indicator" in the price boxes.

      The destination is prefilled as are the cheapest dates. If you don't like what you see, you don't have to book the fare, so the flights are not really a mystery.

      I probably should have tried to book a 'mystery flight' before I posted this deal, but the sale is still a good one nonetheless. There's still a few Grabaseat deals available, but you will need to be quick with any bookings as the fares are popular.

        Yeah, several phone calls, long holds and a lotta of wasted time, eventually got something sorted. Bit naff when the booking process takes twice as long as the blasted flight itself.
