The booking fees don’t come to us - they’re charged by the ticketing platform and payment providers.

They cover secure payment processing, card transaction fees, the ticketing system itself, hosting, ticket delivery, customer support, fraud prevention and ongoing platform maintenance.

Bit of an odd thing to focus on when we’re providing 50% off the ticket price. Even with the $2.06 fees, it’s still an extremely cheap night out 🙂

Reputable businesses don't need to advertise one price then sting people with a bunch of fees at checkout so you get the benefits of a lower advertised price while still maximising profits.

Drip pricing is dodgy, but it's legal and it's commonly done. Seems pretty rich trying to justify it though.

We’ve actually had this exact discussion with Flicket about transparent/all-in pricing. Their uptake by event organisers is currently around 2%, so the overwhelming industry standard remains displaying the ticket price with booking fees separately.

Those fees don’t come to us, so there’s no “maximising profits” going on here.

Our team works hard to be industry leaders in delivering high quality, memorable events at an affordable price - and at $8 + $2.06 in fees for an evening out is great value by any measure
