There's a banner on https://talkischeap.co.nz/ for mystery boxes at the moment, anyone know more about this?

The website has been updated with the list of ‘prizes’ - maybe partly due to this reddit thread?

So, I originally wasn't going to bother, but thought I'd take a punt anyway. Managed to snag one.

Same

Ditto. I wouldn't be upset with most of the items listed, so I look forward to getting one of the few that I don't want.

Same here

Me too thanks OP - figured for the most part, should be able to break even on trademe

Yeah i managed to snag one too. Lets see what i get, will share as soon as i receive it,.

+1
Some of them are a bit quirky for me but worth a yolo for reasonable odds at something decent.

My partner received delivery and "helpfully" reports an Amazon firestick and "a keyring tracker" which I take to be:
Chipolo CARD Spot + Chipolo ONE Spot Bundle + Amazon Fire TV Stick × 5 (combined RRP: $158 each)
I recently bought a Google TV Streamer thing so this non 4K Fire Stick looks like junk.
Chipolo ONE Spot Bundle may come in handy I guess, we have iMac/Macbooks but neither have an Apple phone now so.. idk.
Looking at the list again I would have been happy with every single other product available but I got the dud lol

Amazon Echo Dot (2nd Gen) + SHOKZ OpenFit 2+ (Used? Grade 1)
I guess if i sell the echo dot then i got a $50 running headphones 🤷♂️
Could've been worse
Bit misleading though with the prize pool RRP info if they're including grade 1 products- 3
Those echo dots can be modded, so are quite useful for anyone in the Home Assistant community.

Yeah the puck shaped ones seem to go for around $70-90 on Trademe
not bad I guess if it just the used headphones I'd for sure be complaining.
I don't think they mentioned that all prizes could be used stuff? Only certain ones have Grade written in the list I posted above- 0
@ace310: Yeah they must have just randomly thrown it in coz the SHOKZ OpenFit 2+ is Used Grade 1
Echo box is new so.- 0
i got the wonderboom 3! bit disappointing!

We got two mystery boxes. One had a Wonderboom 4, and the other had a Philips Hue Go Portable Light. No need for neither of them, so a bit of a waste of $$. Excitement levels were high until we opened the box though.

Oh great round two !

@Plug: Really? Cause there are like four things there that aren't even worth $100 retail in other stores. And a few things that while they technically are, they are fairly useless to many and have no resale value.
- 1
@LupinS: Yeah those motobuds wouldn't sell for a quarter of that price if you tried to flip them
Even new nobody would pay $250 for them when Samsung and airpods are about the same price

Let us know what y'all receive 🫡

Received the 'Chipolo CARD Spot + Chipolo ONE Spot Bundle + Logitech M240 Silent Bluetooth Mouse – Graphite'.
The mouse is worth 20 bucks and the Chipolo is allegedly worth around 83 bucks. Both useless for me.
Ah well, you win some you lose some. Won't be partaking again.
