  If the booking fee is mandatory (and I see it's fixed), then it should be displayed in the price.

  Or at least mentioned what it is, you shouldn't need to click through to see that the price is $29 or $50 more than the price advertised.

    I love these scummy practices, they help consumers know which companies to boycott.
    I believe in the long run they lose more $$ and business than what they make with these hidden charges.

  I personally don't understand since covid why you would use a flight agent these days when you can book direct on the airlines website and don't pay fees and can accumulate points. Learned my lesson from the covid lockdown, booked for the Philippines and 2 weeks before my flight lockdown, got my money back except for $80 x2(2 tickets) which was the flight agents fees. Better to book direct with the airlines.

    I think it's more than just flights.

    For example, a few years ago (post lock downs), we had a Travel Agent sort out our flights to the UK, accommodation during a 12 hour layover in Dubai, and insurance. Cost was no more than doing it ourselves, but we didn't have the hassle of organising it.

  Don't forget the $50 per person fees! Stay well away from Flight Centre. They charge far more than booking direct with the airline, charge a mandatory service fee, and when you need service, tack on more fees! If the airline cancels your flight, etc, they try and charge it again, since their ones are non refundable.
